No it's very old fashioned. If you've already got a 'y' name, I wouldn't want another. Too samey.

I don't know what 'to be wendied' means but I thinks it's nice. My mum taught a Wendy and she looked like most gorgeous cabbage patch doll (and was lovely!)

Sorry but if I was cooing over your newborn baby and asked you its name I would be very ! Betsy is lovely and cute, Wendy is just awful IMO, I would expect an older lady to have such a name, some names don't come back for a reason! Infact it would somehow make me dislike the name Betsy slightly too as I would presume you had old fashioned taste. Sorry! If you like the 'older' style names how about Elsie? Or Ava? Molly?

Being wendied is just a mumsnet thing.

I'm not a big fan, but if you like it do it. It's a proper name and it's not offensive, you're baby is 6 weeks old get cracking. No name is going to be universally loved. Once she has a name it will just be her.

Exactly! People may think that of you if they don't know you though! But nobody else's opinion should alter yours so if you love it go for it, if you have doubts though I would look for alternatives! There are so many lovely girls name to be had that would go lovely with Betsy.

I''ve only heard of "being wendied" on Mumsnet.

Wendy is a good choice - everyone knows it so you aren't going to get quizzical expressions, but it's not a popular choice in 2017 so she won't be one of many in her class. Wendy is fine at all stages of her life too.

It is a bit old fashioned I'm afraid, and I think it is a name I would associate with someone a bit drippy.
Asking MN probably not your best bet as the majority will probably think of 'being wendied'.
