Only a few weeks to go and we have finally decided on Duke for a boy and Dulcie for a girl yay :-) x

Love Dulcie - so cute. Duke makes me think of a hard to home rescue dog with behavioural issues and a spotted scarf round his neck.

Duke is along the same lines as 'Saint / Reign / Royal' if you get what I'm saying...

Although, there was a Duke Ellington song that I used to enjoy playing when I was in the school band.

Honestly? Dulcie is pretty but Duke is a dogs name to me, sorry!

Dulcie is fine. Not my cup of tea, but fine.

Really don't like Duke.

I don't think this is a good place to post once you have decided. You'll only get people telling you how much they hate it.

Dulcie is lovely.

Duke is awful.

Like Dulcie, not so keen on Duke.

Duke makes me think of Giuliana Rancic from E! News' kid. I don't mind it but it does sound like a celeb name. Dulice is nice but a bit cutesy for my taste, I prefer Dolce.

*Dulcie!

Dulcie is lovely, but I really don't like Duke.

Really? To rhyme with Puke? How about Luke? Grin

Am with PP, Dulcie is sweet but Duke is a dog's name. Sorry OP!

BBQueen · 12/12/2015 16:16

How do you say Dulcie? Dull-Chi or Dull-See?

Report
SoupDragon · 12/12/2015 16:16

I think they are both dreadful but I really don't know why you are asking if you have made up your mind.

BBQueen · 12/12/2015 16:17

I quite like Duke, but have a speech impediment and would get confused about whether to say Dook or Jook IYKWIM.

I knew a Dulcie at school - she was lovely.
I hope if it's a boy he can carry off Duke.
If your heart's set on these it won't matter what people say but hope you put on something flame proof before posting...

Dulcie is quite cute.

Duke is bloody awful, sorry - pet's name, not a child's.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/12/2015 17:25

Don't like either, sorry - but it's none of my business, of course. Dulcie isn't a name I like but it's a zillion times better than Duke.

Dulcie is inoffensive. Duke is hideous.

Duke is an aggressive Alsatian from a rescue centre.

Dulcie is sweet.

Yikes...Duke is awful, sorry.

Not keen on Dulcie either, what about Darcy? Similar but much nicer.

Duke is Marlene and boyce's dog on only fools...

Neither are for me and I don't think I'd appreciate being called either!

I'm not going to comment as you have already decided the names.
