DH loves Cece but not massively keen on Cecily so kind of only wants to go with it if we really do always call her Cece. I'm just completely torn. I change my mind every five minutes!

Not a fan of romilly. Margot is lovely. Cecily is lovely too - Cecile, Celia, Cecelia, Catherine all alternatives for Cece.

I like them all and agree with sherbet that you should wait till she's been and see what suits her.

Having said that, if you or your Dh really don't like Cecily then I wouldn't use it - you won't be able to force everyone to call her Cece

Thanks so much everyone for your thoughts. It seems from the responses that Romilly and Margot are the frontrunners. I really take the point about calling her something that we don't actually intend to use so, for that reason, I think Cecily is becoming more unlikely. Any further thoughts on Romilly middle names? It feels like it should just be one syllable?

I really like Cecily as a name, but how would you pronounce CeCe? As SeeSee? SehSee? CheChe? CheSee? Or as Sissy, the traditional nn for Cecily? Very probably, some people will use Sissy, whatever you say. As earlier posters have said you can't compel nicknames.
I would also worry that CeCe, however pronounced, might seem sweet for a baby but rather twee for an adult.

I also like Celia and Cecilia, as suggested by earlier poster, and the Dutch/Danish nn for them, Silke (Zeel-kuh), which is sometimes used as a name in its own right.

Margot is a nice name; am not keen on place names as personal names, therefore don't like Romilly.
