I think it's ok- but ( and I hate the deciding on nn before birth thing) but it's one of those names that if you use anything else you can later try it out as a nn

If I didn't have to consider DH's feelings then DS1 would have been Sonny. If I'd have chosen it is probably still like it but I'm much less keen now.

Personally I wouldn't choose it for my DC but I do know a little Sonny, who suits his name down to the ground - a lovely, cheerful, sunny little chap! OP, if you like it, who gives a monkeys whether anyone else does or doesn't? He's your DC, not theirs - I say go for it.

Nope - I wouldn't. Cute until he hits adolescence then he'll probably hate it. I suppose you could always give him the middle name Jim, then he could use that when he got past 11. But, just my opinion.
