to let you know that im HelenaDove and have had to start again under anew name cos MN page gives no other option...

when switching to a new device..

I had to try logging in again as someone new AGAIN because that was the only option AGAIN as old laptop has died. Unless DH can save it that is it. MN accepted the same password on the new account. . When i did try to post under new name i just kept gettin g the OOPS message. This has gone way past being funny. Ive had no problem with facebook or twitter in switching to the new device.

When i went up to Register or Sign In the only option was to Register There were no other screen options

Looks like unless DH can fix my own laptop and it possibly stays logged in i will not be able to access my EIGHT year old account and watchlist.

Ive also had to hop back to an old e mail account which Talk Talk have now put a limited time on to even get back here Quite frankly i dont know why i bother. I am NOT willing to micro manage this. I get quite enough of that in RL This site seems to have problem after problem after problem IT wise and i am utterly utterly sick of it.

If this is a sign that my time here is over then so be it. Im willing to accept that rather than pissarse about like this.

Ive had some good times on here though. But maybe this is a sign that its time for me to find somewhere else.

I've always been curious about your posts and why there are so many spaces in between words? I don't mean to offend, I just have wondered 🤔

Are you using the app btw? I’ve never used it so seem to have avoided quite a few reported problems.

Why did you use an old password on a new account? Of course that won’t work.

And why did you make a new account? Just sign in with your email and that’s that.

i always use a laptop In both cases it was Google Chrome.

Wow your spacing is intriguing, I wonder why you do the double tap on the space bar thing? not being goady I'm genuinely fascinated. Ps hope you get the logins/password/multiple device thing sorted.

Chardonnay i e mailed MN when this first happened two weeks ago. So they already knew And they have known for a while

I haven't had this problem, but I and other people have been logged out and been unable to log in again on various devices; not because username or password aren't recognised, just nothing happens when we click Next! I can only log in on my laptop if I use Firefox instead of Chrome, and I can't log in on my phone at all (can't install another search engine there as insufficient storage, anyway cba).

Have to say MN tech team don't seem that interested

Helena...sorry I have no technical advice/help...but thank you for posting to let us know. I, for one, will miss you if you go 😢. I really hope MN can get this sorted for you.

I haven’t had any issue using a new device, but have had various log in issues over the years.

Hope it’s sorted soo soon 🌷

Is it really that big a deal though 😕? I mean the tone of your post is all a bit this is a terrible service and I’ll take my business elsewhere which would be fine if it was your Tesco account or whatever but it’s MN! It’s a free site that you use presumably because you get something out of posting or reading, you’re hardly doing them a favour. If you “don’t know why you bother” then, well, why bother Confused? Sorry, I’m not trying to be mean but your OP just seems a bit ott.
