After 10am, some people get very few days off and might be trying to sleep.

I'd treat it like a Sunday. Not before 10 IMO.

Wait until 10am! It's only an hour!

I am going to do mine in a minute. After 9 is fine IMO. I have never heard the rule about not before 10 on Sundays either. From the sound of it nor has anyone else in my neighbourhood. Maybe it is regional?

Sundays and bank hols I would wait until 11.30. Though I know others may differ! Will be interesting to see other replies!

I did mine yesterday it was so quiet everywhere so waited until 11. Heard a couple of others start up around the same time.

Ffs! After 10! People still asleep at 9. It's a bank holiday.

Give it another hour.

Wait a bit longer. I don’t think there is a rule but it’s still early. Even if adults are awake maybe they’re having a cup of coffee in peace.

I'd wait till 10am though tbh the neighbours have had their toddlers out in the garden screaming since 730am so I would probably welcome the lawn mowing noise at 9am Hmm

I’d be more inclined to wait until 10am but it depends how well you get on with your neighbours.

My washing machine went on at 7.46 so is spinning now, about 15mins noise. I think 9am is fine.

I never understand why people can't just wait until a normal time to cut their lawns! Definitely after 10 at the earliest!

More generally, I quite like early evening as a lawn mowing time - it's the sort of thing you can do any time if it doesn't take too long, and by early evening people have gone in from their gardens (and won't be having a lie-in, generally speaking!).

I’d say it’s fine and I was out last night(proper out in pubs!) but if it’s quiet waiting an hour would be nice.

No one could complain st this time though.

Then again I can’t sleep late, I just can’t stay asleep past getting up time.

9 am is fine - mow to your heart’s content.

9 is fine. You don't want to do it in the heat of the day, and in the evening people may be sitting in their gardens, so some people will not be happy either way.

Because for me personally I have other things I want to do today. I always want a shower after I have mowed the lawn, so I like to do it first thing, have a shower, then get on with those other things. If I wait until later then I find it restricts what I do beforehand as I am waiting to get it out of the way. I also think 9am is a 'normal' time, even on bank holidays. Just like some people believe that playing loud music well into the night in their garden is normal, but personally I would never do it.

Ok, will wait til 10. Going out at 10.15, so sorry if you’re my neighbours and I wake you.

Although you were singing round your fire cauldron thingy until half midnight keeping me awake last night...

I never understand why people can't just wait until a normal time to cut their lawns! 8 would be a normal time for me, but I would wait until 9 on the weekend. I was cooking a curry at 7 though.

If my neighbours were making excessive noise after 10pm the night before then I would absolutely be mowing at 8am though!

Oysterbabe · 22/04/2019 09:14

Yeah I don't mind, kids have been up since 5:30. Carry on.
