To ask if you have an Apple Watch?

I'm considering buying an Apple Watch. I know they are expensive but it's something I have been looking at for a while.

I've also looked at Fitbits.

Does anyone here have one and what do you use it for in particular?

I'd use it for health monitoring, texts/phone calls and sleep tracking.

Thanks!

Was a waste in my opinion. I bought a Fitbit after and prefer that still.

I have an Apple Watch. I think it’s the series 3. I use it for steps, listening to music on my runs, tracking my runs, calendar alerts, calls/notifications etc. the rings system is great as well for health/exercise tracking I find.

I don’t find it very useful for sleep tracking as it needs charging over night. It would never last 2 days without running out of charge.

Thanks both. I've never been a watch person but I do like the wearable tech ones now.

I'm planning on becoming a lot more active when I've had DC in order to lose a bit of weight so I feel it may come in handy then!

I love mine. I use it for steps, heart rate, texts, calls, calculator, Apple Pay etc.

I love mine. It’s great for in meetings/lectures/toilets etc for sending and reading texts.
I initially bought mine as I wasn’t allowed my phone in a classroom but needed to be contactable by my daughters school. I love my buzz lightyear watch faces

Get an iWatch OP, you won't regret it. I was doubtful, thinking it would be a novelty gadget and would soon get bored of it and take it off like every watch I've ever owned. I was so wrong. I got a series 3 Nike edition which tracks my running stats and has the activity tracker which prompt you to move every hour and you get achievement badges similar to the Fitbit. It's compatible with many iPhone apps, I use the maps quite a lot on it too. Apple Pay is so useful means you don't have to carry your cards around everywhere and most major supermarkets accept Apple Pay which I think have no transaction limit unlike contactless cards. It's most useful to me for discreet texts from the DC and DH when I'm in the office. Feel lost when I forget to wear it.

DP had an Apple watch, he changed it for a Samsung galaxy watch, he works in technical retail so is very knowledgeable about different models and gadgets.
He thinks the Samsung is far superior in comparison to Apple.

I have an Apple Watch and one of the more basic fitbits (Alta if I remember correctly). For steps etc then the Fitbit is better. The Fitbit app is much better for tracking than the Apple Watch is.

On the other hand my Apple Watch does have a heart rate monitor (which my Fitbit doesn’t but other models do). I also have to charge my Apple Watch more frequently than my fit bit. I can get 4/5 days from a full charge on the fit bit and just over 1 day on the Apple Watch. I can access my messages/ emails/ take calls etc in the Apple Watch which I obviously can’t do on the fit bit.

Over all if it’s a health/ fitness tracker you are after then I say go fitbit. If it’s more like a quick access to iPhone stuff without needing your phone out your bag you want then go for the Apple Watch. Also you can get an Apple Watch much cheaper if you don’t go for the latest model. I have a gen 3 and the specs aren’t that much different to the gen 4. I don’t think the price difference justifies buying the latest model to be honest and you can pick up some pretty good deals in the gen 3 at the moment.
