AIBU?

To think I can lose 2 stone in 12 weeks?

Please someone tell me it’s possible and they have done it...
I’m so annoyed with my self. I wanted to lose ideally 2.5 stone. I started in January and keep doing well for a week and then getting lazy. I’ve now lost out on 7 weeks and I could kick myself.
I’ve lowered my goal to 2 stone. I’m aiming to go to the gym at least 2-3 times a week but some weeks it’s not possible.
Can I do it? If I’m really strict with what I eat?

I did a 6 week challenge with my gym where we all aimed to lose 20lbs. I lost 2 stone exactly in the 6 weeks! Was bloody hardcore though - that was last year and I’ve put back on about 5lbs since then.

I’ve lost just over a stone in 6 weeks but it’s been tough going, I have enjoyed it though.

Bootcamp twice a week plus a couple of extra classes here and there. Also walking 30 mins during lunch each day and sticking to calorie limit.

I guess it depends how overweight you are? I’ve still got at least 3 stone to go Confused

Just in case you are interested - this is the diet the gym made us follow:

Breakfast - a porridge pot or 2 egg whites and 1 full egg scrambled with 1 Linda McCartney veggi sausage.

Lunch: 150g chicken, 45g brown rice, 1 cup of broccoli.

Supper: 100g chicken in a salad.

Snacks were a handful of seeds or 100g low fat yogurt. Drink only water and at least 2 litres a day. Basically, starvation rations!

We did 3 hardcore boot camps a week and 2 solo workouts. I felt amazing at the time mind!

Look on the free forums on my fitness pal. You don’t need to hit the gym in order to lose 2stone. Loads of advice about counting calories on there.
It is doable if you lose 2/3 pounds a week. I think it’s unlikely unless you are very over weight though so make sure you are realistic!

I've lost 11lb in 5 weeks on slimming world and in all honesty I've cheated a fair bit and done no extra exercise.

Yeah, I wouldn't prioritise exercise : it's all about diet tbh

Losing weight in such a short period is very harmful to health!

The whole 30 diet is the only one that's ever worked for me! I'm terrible at diets and sticking to things but this really changed my attitude to food in general. It's quite restrictive with what you can eat but you can each as much of the things you're allowed as you want! I lost 1.5 stone in a month and kept it off.

There's a really good Instagram page for it too with lots of tasty recipes and support!

Get Jillian Michaels 30day shred on amazon, and try 5:2.
You'll easily lose weight. If 5:2 is not for you, then get MyFitnessPal, and religiously enter your food, you'll learn a lot about how you eat. Good luck.

I want to exercise, it will help. I know sometimes it can slow down actual weight loss but will be losing inches and Toning.

I can’t cut out food groups or do any sort of fasting or starvation because I have no large intestine anymore and it would affect me.

I use my fitness pal, it recommends 1200 calories but I think I should aim for less. I’m 11.5 stone so not huge amounts to lose. Ideal weight would be 8.5-9 stone but I’ll settle for 9.5 in 12 weeks.

If I could do 2 pound a week that would be nearly my 2 stone.

A stone? yes ok if you are youngish and do a lot of exercise.

2 stone? No, can't see it happening, especially as you are already struggling.

I did exactly that. I lost 2 stones in 3 months on slimming world. I stuck to group to get all the tips and it's changed the way I cook and eat now as it's got rid of some of my awful eating habits.

I’ve done slimming world before, but never stayed, just got weighed so felt I was wasting money. I don’t have time to get to the meetings anymore.
I think it might be unrealistic. I can’t definelty stick to the calories, I just know that after the first few weeks, weight loss always seems to slow to a pound a week. I’m going to be so annoyed with myself if I don’t do it because it should of been easily achievable if I hadn’t messed anoutnfor 7 weeks.

If you're exercising intensely while dieting, maybe look at your body fat percentage rather than/ along with your weight. You may be losing fat but not losing weight as muscle is denser than fat.

It’s pointless to try and lose weight that quickly - I guarantee you’ll end up burning mostly muscle so the number on the scales looks good but you won’t look “toned”.

Better to drop cards, hit weights and do HIIT and walk a shit tonne

What’s the rush op? Do you have something special to do in 12weeks? I’m sure you can do it, but it will be tough. Good luck.
