Do I hate it or is it the unfortunate effect of every junior school choir in the county murdering it at this time of year?

AND ALL THE ANGELS.....

It's difficult to sing well, I think. Jumps all over the shop. In fact, I don't really like it.

I can belt it out. It's a bit high for me, and my 4 year olds have started to copy my awful 'reaching' for.. Bells of... Heaven... Bit Blush

Seems to be sung in an American accent as well.

I used to love playing that at school for the children to sing. :)

Very tricky to sing properly.

The words are very pretty, I think they redeem it.

Written by an English songwriter - no need for any American accent

I didn't know that!

Is that the one that goes ‘earthlings sleeping, sleeping calm and still’
?

I can never get over the word earthling.

I love it! But then, I have memories of a lovely version by a professional choir; never heard it sung by school children. Maybe that would colour my perspective Grin

Sentimentali, Earth lay sleeping! The earthlings were partying wildly with the shepherds, if I remember correctly.

Seems to be sung in an American accent as well.

I grew up in Scotland where it always ends, "King of all the wurr-olld!"

Mine too! I have such fond memories of it. I've been listening and singing along in the car already this year

I’m not a sentiment type but every time I hear it I cry. I have tried singing it as a festive lullaby to the DC a few times and ended up blubbing! What is wrong with me?! I do really love it (gets nostalgic)

I prefer starry night to we three kings. I still haven't recovered from dentention 10 years ago when my friend started bellowing the well known alternative version with one on his scooter, tooting his hooter.

Ah, I’m not religious not a carol fan but if I had to name one to be a favourite, this would be a contender.
