AIBU?

To want a seat for my large DC?

Actually this title sounds a bit odd but I couldn't think of anything else.

My DD is nearly 6 months and she is big. 99th percentile when born and is now long and big and heavy! Don't get me wrong I love her to bits and she is totally the right size for her age etc just stating facts.

She is not yet crawling etc although she is rolling and likes to sit up. She has a bouncer type chair and has basically outgrown it but when I go to answer the door, have a shower etc I need somewhere to put her and it's perfect in front of the telly when I want a cup of tea

I've tried to Google large bouncers, baby chair etc etc they all seem to be up to 9kg which she is over. I know she'll be crawling soon and I can pop her in a play pen of some sort but what can I do for now? I can't leave her on her play mat etc as she now rolls over and could be in any position when I get back. AIBU to bring my baby in the shower with me because I can't think of a solution?! Help!

Fisher price do one that you can convert into a toddler chair by pulling the clips on the bottom of the frame so it doesn't topple forward. Would she be too big for that?

Bumbo? I think they are good for this age. Or a door bouncer.

Bumbo? Bean bag? Playpen but just keep the bottom clear so if she rolls it's safe? High chair with baby insert?

The bouncy seat attachment for a Phil and teds second seat would do you. It’s called a lazy ted.

If you can get the seat I have the attachment somewhere I think if you wanted I’d post it to you

Jumparoo? Or a bumbo?
I used to put DD in the bumbo with a couple of toys while I was in the shower, and the jumparoo would be downstairs in the lounge for when I needed her to stay in one place (the annoying music is the downside of that though!)

The Babybjorn Sitter 1-2-3 is fantastic, and advertised for toddlers to sit in. No fancy electronics, it bounces by the babies own movement. Also has a nice wooden toy bar.

They are harder to come by now, but hold their resale value. I had mine for 2 kids and sold it on for about 80% of the original cost.

High chair with a tray so she can play with a few toys while you do things around the house. I just sit mine in their cots with some toys and books while I have a quick shower.

Jumparoo? I had something similar and it was a godsend.

Omg yes!! Wanted a baby swing for my dd and was disappointed they only go up to 6 months. My dd isn't even sitting up yet (5 months) doesn't seem to be much out there after 6 months (I hate jumperoo and baby walkers so won't be using them)

Travel cot/playpen?

Tricky because this is likely a very short window of difficulty iyswim, totes understand where you're coming from!

My 9month old is in 12 -18 month clothes. We have been sitting her in a walker and she loves it.

I used for a shirt while at this stage my washing basket. I pit a nice blanket in the bottom and behind her and attached toys using those D shape clip things you get for baby toys onto the sides. Had a textured ball, a silly scarf and some crinkly stuff in a pouch for her to play with. I then sat this in front of the shower. I admit it didn't last a lot of time but it was a free solution to my problem!

Door bouncer is this a jumperoo? was a godsend for our long, large DS until about 8 months.

I wouldn't recommend a bumbo for such a large baby as the leg holes can be very narrow at the top.

You can put her in a playpen now. DD was put in one at that age and was so used to it that she never saw it as a "prison". It was somewhere that was padded and comfortable and full of toys.

Either pop her in playpen (we used travelcot) or high chair. Or even used to pop dc into their cot with a few toys
