Too have spent £100 on lunch for myself (vouchers used)

I finally found the balls strength to split from my OH a few days ago. Although I burst into tears at the thought of it all and am still not 100% confident that I can keep to this (he is begging for us to "give it another go") I know 100% that it is the right decision after everything he has put me through over the years.

So today, to cheer myself up, and congratulate myself for finally doing it I decided to go to a very posh restaurant and spend the vouchers I had been given from work ages ago on a blow out lunch.

I have sat in the sun and enjoyed lobster and champagne and haven't given two hoots to the cost as I have it covered in vouchers.

Am feeling so relived and just know that happiness without that constant burden is just around the corner Smile

I'd say this is happiness beginning not round the corner.

YANBU even if you didn't have vouchers, if it makes you happy and doesn't put you in debt go ahead and enjoy!

Here's to the beginning of a new happy chapter for you. I hope you really enjoyed yourself.

well done you.
Lunch sounds perfect.

If you had given us all warning, we could have come and made a party (how many vouchers did you say you had Grin)

Thank you, it's been a shitty year so far but today I felt relaxed.

Though I have been here nearly 2 hours and still haven't finished the bottle of champagne yet, think I need to up my game lol

Seventh I know I've got lonely months to come as my ex (that feels so good to say) distanced me from my old friends and as I met him very shortly after moving to a new (very small but stunning) place I haven't made any friends of my own here.

I need to try and find a way of making friends which at my age isn't the easiest but I'd rather be lonely on my own than lonely in a crap relationship.

Oh lovely! I hope you enjoyed every mouthful.

My aunt recently separated from her dh and she went out and had champagne with afternoon tea to celebrate, she said it was her way of marking the future

Mmmm I shall have too see if they do cocktails at this time of day!!

I have no work tomorrow and still have plenty of more vouchers (and time) to spend so maybe an absolutely outrageous bottle of wine circa 70 bloody quid may be on the cards.

I feel so naughty at the cost but then these vouchers have to be used and I was given them by work so what the bloody hell.

May have to report back tomorrow about my sore head though

You were given the vouchers - you didn't even spend that money on yourself, your workmates gave you that lunch as a present!

I hope you enjoyed it and didn't spoil it for yourself by feeling guilty (would he have made you feel guilty?)
