Received part of my schuh order this morning. 1 box is a pair of shoes- all good
The other, was this. It's a clip on thing for kids laces so tiny, the size of a sticker.... in its own shoe box Hmm
Why do companies do this? There's no need

This is ridiculous isn't it

That is bloody ridiculous. I'd post a picture of this on their Facebook page and shame them.

That's ridiculous. Amazon are bad for this. I've had stuff in a box, in a box, in a box, surrounded by about 6m of brown paper. Not an ornament either, something like a box of Lego.

Shocking!

Ridiculous! Agree with the above poster about Amazon.id ordered something tiny and non-fragile and it came in a much too big box with ten tons of brown paper inside.

Boots used to be terrible for packaging. they would put loads of bubble wrap and tonnes of brown paper,do not now if they still do.

There ought to be some kind of name-and-shame Twitter feed for ridiculous overpackaging!

I order from schuh all the time and love them but then Iv only ever ordered shoes, never smaller so packaging has never been an issue.
The thing is it came with something else so why not just put it inside that box instead of its own massive shoebox

I received a nail varnish from amazon in a box measuring 9" x 9" x 6" with a shed load of brown paper shoved in with it.

I thought it was a milk saucepan by the shape of the box... Confused

Yes that's mad.

With my Tesco shop if I forget to click the 'no carrier bags' box on the order the amount of carrier bags they send is staggering sometimes. Literally sometimes one item per bag!

This actually enrages me. It's like a massive fuck-you one-finger to the environment. Angry

Chill out, maybe they just ran out of suitable envelopes or their couriers have funny minimum size box contacts.

Ours has a minimum size- to stop it getting lost i think- so sometimes we send a larger box. We bulk buy the larger boxes and rarely need anything smaller so it would cost more to buy a few small ones from the high street rather than our packaging supplier.

We are supposed to send everything by our courier for tracking and insurance reasons unless it is normal envelope. Especially any orders.

Boxes are all made from recycled materials where I work. And carbon footprint wise it's better for us to get a bulk order of big boxes than order one small one too.

I am chilled beep.
Just can't understand why they didn't stick it in with the other box instead of giving it its own full sized shoe box.
Environmentally friendly or not it's still a waste of packaging
