AIBU?

To put my baby's in birth arrival outfits?

When I take my children home from the hospital, I have always had a special outfit for them and will again have one for this baby. Been reading some old threads and people think this is tacky. I really don't know why!
Is it that bad of an idea? I like getting a few photos!

No one puts baby in a tutu.

Babies look really crap in dresses, imo. They only start to look good at about 18months. Before that it's all a bit "Phil Mitchell in a frock"

Absolutely great idea if it floats your boat op!

Whatever makes you happy. But since you've asked, yes, I think it is tacky.

Interesting that a thread advertising these was just deleted...

They are dreadful. A cute babygro with slogan, fine. But tutus on a newborn. So uncomfortable for baby and a faff to get on. But it's a free world, do as you please.

Doesn't it depend largely on the weather?

Of course yanbu to get your little ones a new outfit for coming home. They're your babies, you can dress them how you want. My only concerns are that the girl outfits look really scratchy and uncomfortable for a newborn. The boy outfits are far nicer.

I think a tutu style outfit for a baby is a bit odd, also glittery bow ties. But it's your choice!

They would go well in that frilly buggy that's just been deleted.

The "boy" ones are cute. The "girl" ones are indeed tack-tastic.

But hey, if you've just pushed a baby out you kind of get a free pass.

If your baby is dressed appropriately for the weather and is safe (so for example none of those headband things, purely because they are dangerous and a baby recently died wearing one as it slipped down) then dress them how you want.

Not @JakeBallardswife!
I do genuinely want to know whether you think it's tacky.
And I would agree with the Phil Mitchell thing but all my kids have had full heads of hair at birth.

Whatever floats your boat.

I just concentrated on scraping the lumps of fanny matter off of their heads meself.

I like the boy outfits, but I'm really not keen on the girls outfits

Tacky and a clear ad for grim, uncomfortable shite. Babies need to be comfy not put in tutus at hours old. Honestly what is wrong with people. Why put your own awful fashion taste over a babies comfort. They're not an accessory.
