To wonder how on earth Katy Perry made it?

She is truly crap. I saw something on tv recently where she was live and it was shocking how bad she actually was. I know there are other who are like her and who still made it but I can't find anything redeeming about her. Even with auto tune she still sounds bad. Or maybe I am just a bitch Is anyone else as baffled as me?

Her latest song is awful. It sounds pretty bad on the radio but at the Brits singing live she sounded awfully out of tune.

I don't mind some of her songs. it is just something about the current one that sounds pained.

I'm not a fan but I used to think she was testy good at catchy songs/watchable videos. This one feels totally flat.

I do like her songs a lot and she is cute, but I agree wholeheartedly that her live singing is f*cking awful. Worst live singer I know. Funnily enough, I hardly see any comments about it (on twitter etc,) and I wonder if it's just me/my ears LOL. So it is refreshing to see someone post that she is shit live.

She writes great, uplifting songs. I'm not normally a pop person at all, - much more into folk, Indie, jazz etc but I make an exception for her two life affirming anthems: Firework and Roar. Can't listen to either of them without feeling amazing.

I saw her live a couple of years ago, wasn't excited for it and we went as a big group of girls because a couple of my friends love her and she was all we could agree on. Tickets were only £35 as opposed to (other, albeit more talented) people like Ed Sheeran and Beyonce (£120?!?!?!? For a 90 minute show?!?) and she was actually fantastic. Great performer, invited people up on stage, told us about how she got bullied in school and to always celebrate our individuality and love ourselves as we are... sounds like bullshit now but it was very empowering and quite fun, and I think she's a much better role model than many others for young girls e.g. Nicki Minaj.

If she provides a good show with the confidence building etc then that is brilliant. I just don't feel she is the best singer. But she isn't alone with that. Loads of famous singers do not have fantastic voices imo
