AIBU?

To have a spiritual reading whilst pregnant??

So I know it's likely il be told how clairvoyants are con artists and peoples views on them & how they prey on vulnerable people.

With that being said, I went to one when I was around 18, all I was asked was what don't you want to be told?? My reply was "if anyone was dying or going to die", other than that he specifically asked me not to say anything when he spoke.

He told me about an embarrassing accident about my leg - this was true, it had happened a month earlier.

He told me my bf at the time (I didn't tell him I had one) wasn't going to be the person I'd spend my life with - we split a year later.

He also informed me that a younger girl whom I'm not very close to at the time would go down a difficult path - a good year later she did

Finally, he told me how I'd move away - I moved away for 5 years before coming back.

All the above weren't given time frames, it all took a good 5 years to happen.

Anyways! Now I've said that, I'm now 25 Weeks pregnant and if anyone knows me from previous threads, they'll know I'm going through a tough time....could I tell the medium as soon as I see them that I'm pregnant and want no info on it whatsoever!

YABU to have spiritual reading. YABU fullstops.
Pregnant or not does not come in to in IMO.

Having said that, if you enjoy it, can afford it and are able to see that virtually everything you were told had a fair chance of happening, then go - what the heck.

Personally, I don't see the attraction.
If it were true 'reading of the future', it'd be terrifying - who on earth wants to know what's around the corner?!
As it's not true, I see it as a huge waste of time and money.

YANBU to go and see one while pregnant... It will save her guessing that you will have children I suppose.. Other than that it will still all be made up..

Yes. In the same way that you asked not to be told about death/dying at the last one you can ask for the same to apply plus nothing about your baby.

Why are you going? Does it bring comfort?

It's just someone taking your money and making stuff up based on leading questions and guesswork, whether you're pregnant or not. All it's going to harm is your bank balance, not your baby.

Errr read back over what he told you

It was hardly ground breaking stuff was it? Grin

Save your money and buy yourself something nice.

YABU to visit a psychic at all.

In fact, I'll give you a reading for free: Someone's going to win the lottery this week, and it'll be a man or a woman celebrating a birthday this year...

"He also informed me that a younger girl whom I'm not very close to at the time would go down a difficult path - a good year later she did"

So... literally any woman younger than you then that you know in passing? Fuck's sake, I've heard some hilarious generic readings but this is one of the best.

"He told me about an embarrassing accident about my leg - this was true, it had happened a month earlier"
Loads of explanations for this
"He told me my bf at the time (I didn't tell him I had one) wasn't going to be the person I'd spend my life with - we split a year later."
You were 18. That was a pretty safe guess!
"He also informed me that a younger girl whom I'm not very close to at the time would go down a difficult path - a good year later she did"
That would apply to practically all of us
"Finally, he told me how I'd move away - I moved away for 5 years before coming back"
Once again, a pretty safe guess for an 18 year old

Has anyone lost a Mary?

Seriously op buy yourself a new top or something instead. I could have told you all those mind bogglingly accurate revelations you got when you were 18.

Save your money. Honestly.

You might as well ask me for a spiritual reading. It will be total bollocks mind, just like your clairvoyant's.

I'm all for a bit of woo me but these people are just cold readers and con artists. They pick up on your body language and tell you very general things that could (and do) happen to anyone.

Go and spend your cash on something you love doing. A massage in a quiet room will do you more good then seeing one of them.

I once went to a packed theatre (1500 seats) to see a TV psychic (might have been Sally?) because it was a works do and I'll never forget her opening line being:

"Y'alright? Ooh, now I'm getting the name... John. Is there anyone here called John?"

I'd hazard a fucking guess Sally that there'll be someone with the most common name in Britain in a room of 1500 people...

Someone in your family will watch a film tonight.
Public transport will feature in your immediate future.
You will spend money tomorrow.

In the last 5 years, I have also had an embarrassing injury with my leg (yay for just-about-crotch stitches), left my boyfriend, known (several) girls who have gone down difficult paths AND moved to Germany.

That's how generic your "reading" was.

P.s. Badcat's suggestion of a nice massage is a great one!

"I sense that you are sometimes insecure, especially with people you don't know very well."

That's another of my favourites (pretty much describes everyone in the world, I think!)

Sorry, I didn't put it right.

He told me a younger girl in my family would go through a tough time and I'd be there for her....not just generic going through tough time.

Still generic. I can think of 3 young women in my life that would apply to without trying.

YABU not to put the money to better use and believing the nonsense they spout. Grin
Send me the money and I'll do a reading for you, at least I have a famous ancestor palm reader.

How can he "guess" a leg injury??
His words were, I sense a leg injury that's happened already. Well I can make guesses but not that bloody good.

I get the whole bf thing seeing my age but I told him nothing except not wanting to know if someone was dying

Everyone is going to die so that doesn't take much forecasting.

You are likely to have a baby and hopefully you and it will be well. It may be a girl, or there is also a chance that it will be a boy.

Please spend your cash on something real. Or if you feel that spiritual comfort is needed, go to a religious service - they don't charge!

he maybe caught you limping or your mum told somebody who told somebody else etc.
