AIBU?

To publicly shame Asda on here & call them bloody gits!

They sent me 2 packs of rotten raspberries with caterpillars on them in my shop.

I phoned up but the lady couldn't speak English properly so she couldn't understand what I was trying to tell her.

In the end I hung up and decided to email instead. I also requested through a separate online request for an email. Despite an automated email saying they would respond within 48 hours, it has been 4 days and no response to my complaint. My refund has also not been issued.

I've sent them another complaint but I'm losing faith that I'm going to get a reply.

I've been a customer since I've been an adult who does her own food shop but won't be buying from them again as they give me rotten fruit and then don't care to respond to my complaints. BLOODY GITS!

U should have taken them to a customer services desk and asked if they had a licence to sell pets - loudly!

Far more effective to do it on their Facebook page Smile

Tried TheGruffalo but they do not allow you post messages on their wall or send them private messages, so all I could do was comment on one of their existing posts but it was ignored. That was on Thursday.

Do they have a Twitter? That usually gets people listening! I get my weekly shop not twice weekly honest and it's a godsend, but sometimes I've had to complain when things have gone missing. Never had actual bugs in fruit though, that's disgusting.

I would have just called back and got someone else. I have had to call them a few times over the years for missing or broken stuff. The calls are usually answered in South Africa and I have not experienced any language barriers at all.

Asda is the shittest supermarket in the UK - possibly the world. They must treat their staff so badly because you can see their lack of morale and motivation in every single thing they do - or don't do!
We just don't go there any more - not that they give a shiny shite about that because it seems to me they don't care about anything!

social media is the best bet here and I would guess you will have a response within hours. If you took photos then all the better!

I NEVER used to ring the bog standard home shopping number they were useless. Ring the store direct, you can normally speak to the department directly or customer services. Failing that go in.

Asda customer service is dire. I'm still waiting for a reply to an email I sent a couple of weeks ago!

Can you try calling them again? Hopefully you'll get through to someone else.

Contact the ceo via Twitter?
I loathe asda. There are many many threads in here about their dire customer service and home shopping delivery.

Just go back to the shop and deal with it I am so bloody fed up with people doing all this sad-face drama about things.

Agree that Asda seems to be going down the pan.
I hadn't been for a few months, as I couldn't manage shopping following an injury, so DH had been going on his own.
Then I went to Asda on Saturday and it wasn't a pleasant shopping experience: floor areas filthy and cluttered, empty shelves, hardly any staff around to help, and those who were there didn't look happy to be there ( a shame, as I know some have been there for years).
Then, when I got to the till, the operator said my Price Guarantee voucher for over £8 wouldn't go through, and there was no supervisor to sort it, so I couldn't use it.
I've shopped at this Asda since it opened 27 years ago, but I'm deciding now whether to go elsewhere, but I like their prices.

I can't understand this, every time (which is quite often as they often get it wrong) I have applied for a refund it has been done within 3 working days.

Phone back and ask to speak to somebody else if you're having trouble communicating.
Asda is like Ocado, where the couple of days following delivery you can click and request a refund via your account page. Very simple. You've probably left it too long to do that now.

I'm in agreement with the pp who mentioned no need for all the drama. Honestly!

My experience of asda is that mostly they're great, and the standard refund system works well. When things go wrong though, they go very wrong. Complaints are not handled well.

Asda's contact centre is in South Africa and I've found it impossible to understand the staff, that is when you an actually get trough to them. I used them for a year and nearly every other week there was an issue. I changed to tesco, been using them for a year and no issues. Not even a substitution!

i shop online and 98% of the time service is good, very few subs and i can usually get stuff resolved quickly on the phone if needed, guess i'm just lucky. don't get the 'hate campaign' - just shop else where.

Report
kali110 · 16/08/2016 16:00

Just take them back to the shop and ask for a refund.
A hate campaign, for this Confused

'Just take them back' assumes OP is near enough to a store for this to be worthwhile. I'd certainly spend more in petrol getting to my nearest Asda than I'd get back from a couple of refunded packs of raspberries, and yes, they do deliver in my area. And it wasn't a 'drama' until Asda refused to engage with the complaint.
