AIBU?

To be worried I have a baggy vagina?

Well the name says it all I'm a regular and I've name changed for obvious reasons

I've always assumed I was tight down there....have 3 kids youngest is 2, but have had planned c sections every time and always done my pelvic floor exercises since I was a teenager

Until tonight when I had a bounce on the kids trampoline and LEAKED

Not proper full on wee but a definite dribble to which I had to go change my under wear

And now I'm paranoid I have a baggy fanny (sorry Blush but there really is no other way of saying it)

I did actually need a wee at the time by the way so prob didn't help

Wee doesn't come from your vagina.

We comes from your urethra.

Weak bladders are not the same as baggy vaginas.

Form 1 biology.

Obviously I do know that Blush (honest)

But thought a weak pelvic floor would mean your vag was loose too

Can't even believe i am having this convo

Your pelvis may be weaker, what the heck does that have to do with your vagina Hmm. Did you miss every biology lesson after primary school?

If there was some kind of ...fanny trauma...from childbirth that was making you slightly stress incontinent (maybe due to a prolapse etc), then you'd probably have noticed it before the youngest was two.
You might just need some more pelvic floor toning for the benefit of your bladder, not your reproductive system.

You've got a weak pelvic floor as a result of having 3 kids. It's got nowt to do with your fanny. Speak to your GP.

You're fine, honestly.

Next time have a wee before you go on the trampoline.

Are you having perimenopause? That completely fucked up my pelvic floor.
Which is not located in your vagina.

As far as I know purple

Feels same to me I think

And I'm sure he'd never say anything if it wasn't

You've had two babies, doesn't matter if by c-section or vaginally, it has the same affect on your pelvic floor muscles. Yes, by all means do your excercises but your muscles will just be a bit less tight than what they were previous to you having children.

Also, by a simple fact of biology your vagina expands (it has to for childbirth) it has folds in the tissue which allow this process. The vagina also expands when aroused incidentally, so tightness or lack of it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Ok three babies, your pelvic floor has held three babies. That's not to be sneezed at, and it will have had an effect.

Definitely sounds perimenopause if your dc are caesarian and you've been exercising pelvic floor muscles for years.

Even if you haven't had a vaginal birth the weight of a pregnancy can weaken your pelvic floor

I too thoughy that weak pelvic floor gave a looser vagina Op so you are not alone. Not least because the expensive kegel toner I bought aftet dc 3 claims to cure incontinece and give better sensation for sex.
I love mine btw worth eveey penny. I bought for the sex side and did notice a difference.

Tramp, yes it's true the wee comes from your bladder, but it sounds to me like your pelvic sling muscles could do with a bit of toning.

If you want to assess how your pelvic sling is working, book with a post natal physio.
The simple fact is that section or not, having pregnancies changes the pelvic sling and abdominal muscles. Having a section can bind the muscle layers together with scarring and reduce function of the abs and pelvic sling as they are all connected.

Interestingly, my physio said most women don't know how to relax their pelvic floor enough, so a session or three with a physio and doing the exercises she gives will set you up for the rest of your life. (She may look at the muscle layers with a sonogram to see if they're stuck together).

For dry pants for the rest of your life, a few sessions with the physio is essential. Confidence in your pelvic competence is well worth the investment.

This was exactly what happened to me a couple of years ago. 5 kids inc twins. I was shocked! I know my vagina is in good shape as sex has been even better since the kids but the wee thing was a surprise.
I got myself a Kegel8 machine. Google it. They are fab. After 12 weeks of using it (with a gap for my period) things had definitely improved. I suggest you check out their website before bothering the GP.

You don't have to answer this OP, but are you overweight?

That can put pressure on your pelvic floor muscles and cause leaks too.

I have the wee problem too after c- section but it's just from the stress on the pelvic floor of carrying a baby. Nothing to do with vaginal tightness!
I've been informed by several friends and boyfriends that tightness doesn't have much to do with kids.. Lots of stories of virgins who felt loose from the beginning and women who have had kids feeling tight.

I have female friends who have had leaks in middle age ( after sneezing or coughing etc) who have not had children.
We all need to take care of our pelvic floors as we advance in years. I would myself - if I remembered..

Holistic core restore classes are brilliant - and fun - and resolved my issue, which was worse than yours (I'm older and had children fairly late) as it does seem to get worse as you get older. But it really can be reversed for most people with the right exercises. Well, it worked for me and a lot of my friends too.
