Me and DH were having a dissagreement about contraception. If I am buying condoms at the shop, he won't come with me as it's 'embarassing'. Aibu to think he should grow up? Its not like anyone cares....

If he's too embarrassed to buy then he's not mature enough to be having sex

If it's too embarrassing to buy condoms then he's clearly too immature for sex...

Grin Not implying you're shagging a child, just a man child.

It's only embarrassing if the purchase only consists of condoms, lube and cucumbers.

If he's grown up enough to get his dick out, he's grown up enough to buy condoms without being pathetic about it.

I've said this before, but I was behind a man in the supermarket once who bought bananas, KY and a copy of the Sun.

My ex would only buy them at one shop local to us as it had a self service til. He wouldn't buy the ones he preferred as it meant being served at the til in boots, and that apparently was too embarrassing for a 44yr old.......

apparently I should have been buying them......

I actually don't think I'd have sex with a man who was too embarrassed to purchase contraception.

OP tell DH you need him to buy you tampons, and could he pick up some Tena man products for the old man down the road!

What Majestic said. I remember saying that to one of my mates who wanted me to pick them up for her. We were 15 and it focused her mind pretty quick.

When I worked in Superdrug years ago, our condoms were often shoplifted probably for that reason.
Groups of teenage boys would also think it funny to ask if there was an extra large variety.
Please tell your Dh that as a shop assistant I couldn't have cared less about what was in your basket, I was just counting down the minutes until my shift ended.Smile

YANU he does need to grow up where this is concerned! I'd find immaturity like that quite unattractive. Come on OP's husband - get a grip!

I once purchased 3 boxes of Durex as they were on a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer. Unfortunately, at the checkout, the assistant was unable to wrestle them out of their security boxes. She had to call her supervisor over to have a go. There was quite a queue by this point. Unfortunately the supervisor couldn't manage either so I had to trail after the supervisor and my 3 jumbo boxes of condoms to the customer services desk. All was sorted in the end but I was a bit red in the face by the end of it. Is that the kind of thing your DH is worried about OP? Grin

Any wonder we have such a depressing teen pregnancy rate when even a grown ass man wont but his own condoms!

When my coil before last was due to be changed I picked up some condoms whilst in tesco for dessert sauce. It was only when the young lad at the checkout sniggered that it clicked that a squeezy sachet of dulche de leche, a box of condoms and a polythene dustsheet OH was painting something or other actually looked like the makings of a fun night in... Shock

Send him out to buy condoms, tampons and a breast pump.

I remember being embarrassed as a teen once then looked next to me in the family planning department of Boots and an elderly lady was buying KY. Never embarrassed since!

I don't understand the rude comments towards her DH, some people do get embarrassed by these kind of things, it's not uncommon to.

I think you are being unreasonable by starting a thread about your DH, very childish to say the least.
