Why is it so fucking slow? Why is there a 10 second delay after I press any button? Why does it not let me pause a catch up programme and come back to it later? Why do I have to start from the beginning? Why are the menus so ugly?

AIBU to want to go back to sky?

I have a non sleeping baby and have quite a short fuse at the moment and find myself shouting at the tv quite a lot.

I remember seeing TiVo on sex and the city and thinking it looked SO cool, now it's randomly recorded "lip sync battle" cos it thinks I might like it and I'm just offended to be honest.

Every service Virgin offer is shit. Their broadband fucking enrages me, it drops out every night between 7-10.30, I'm assuming because they can't fulfill the demand for it. Their 3G is wank, and the telly has started pixelating in the evenings. Don't even get me started on their 'customer service'. And it is so expensive and goes up every year.

If you possibly can, I would cut your losses and return to Sky.

I hate it too.
We had to go from sky as we were made to take down our satellite dish.
Virgin drives me crazy Angry

It's awful yes. And the service frequently drops out. "Catch up is not available at this time". It takes an age to actually find anything, the menus and categorisation are a mess.

YANBU. Get rid of it all and get a youview box. No more monthly subscription and you can record stuff on it. I don't miss the crap cable channels.

Catch up is terrible, I TiVo anything I want to watch as catch up is likely to result in a boot being chucked at the telly.

I've had Virgin TV/Broadband/Phone for years and I have never had a problem with it. I wonder if the service depends on where you live?

I'll just have to remember to TiVo everything then, I'm so used to just streaming everything smoothly on sky.

I was excited about having Netflix on the telly but that is the slowest of the slow. Tried to watch a prog just now and it was just a black screen with sound. GREAT THANKS.

I agree the tv is shite but does seem to have become increasingly worse - it never used to be like that. But broadband is excellent (BT claimed they couldn't get superfast to our house so Virgin obliged), it's better value for money and we've found their customer service infinitely better than Sky and BT. I'm a bit of a Virgin fan but agree the tv element needs sorting - give them your feedback.

Virgin is shite. We had it for years and just moved house - we now have a freesat box, same/better picture quality and we actually have more channels now. The freesat box cost £78 as a one-off - Virgin was charging £60/month by the time we left! The TiVo box cacked out twice and the Internet kept cutting out too. We now have plusnet internet which is free for a year and have never had a landline anyway, so our total costs have gone from £60/month to free for 12 months and it's all actually better. Would never ever ever go back to Virgin! Rip-off merchants.

How do you get the internet without a landline?

We have 4 people using our virgin broadband heavily in the evening (gaming laptops, Xbox, ipad) and there are no speed issues whatsoever.

seven it can vary from street to street, I reckon. We literally moved around the corner and the service got worse. Part of the problem though, is Virgin Customer Service give zero fucks about any problems customers have.

I've had virgin media for years and always thought it was great. Had my family round for a meal last night and my nieces couldn't believe how fast the broadband was. They are with sky. Customer service has always been good too.

Our Virgin broadband is fantastic. Have always been very happy with their customer service too. The TiVo box is a pile of rage-inducing crap.

Always had a great service from Virgin. Broadband is crazily fast.
Unlike Sky you don't have to pay if the equipment fails. When our TiVo failed after four years, we had an engineer round with a replacement box the next day.

We rarely have a problem, and when we do its fixed within a day. We've been with them 10 years.

We are a cabled area though and I wonder if that makes a difference?

Our virgin broadband is amazing. I wouldn't use anyone else for broadband

I've had Virgin for the past 2 years and never had a problem with any of it. They were recently updating the cables so our broadband dropped below the speeds we should be getting, the customer service was amazing and we got £140 credit for the inconvenience.

Virgin Is awesome.

I am a total fan, their broadband is 99.9% reliable.

The TiVo box (and the "apps" on it) are slow, clunky and generally a heap of shit. There are rumours of a new box on the way though....
