To think this is cheeky as fuck?

Sitting in McDonald's car park earlier and a chap in a van pulled up. He got out and started pulling loads of rubbish from said van (cans, bottles, papers and such), stuck it in a carrier bag, dumped it next to one of the bins and then drove off!

I thought it was really rude of him- the staff have enough to do without having to lug his waste into the bin! Especially as he hadn't even bought anything!

I got the registration number and gave it to the manager bur the friend I was with thinks I'm being unreasonable. Am I?

What on earth will the manager do with the reg details?
Cheeky behaviour but better than throwing rubbish out the window.

I'd call that fly tipping. Illegal, irresponsible and nasty.

But I balance that against the fact that I hate MacDonald's, so not going to say whether U or not....

The McDonald's car parks are always full of litter. People eat it and just put it out of their cars. I don't know why they bother having bins.

Sounds like he had good intentions really.

He didn't want to dump it in the road (thank goodness) and probably didn't want to fill the bin up, knowing that a member of staff would have to come and empty it sooner, just because of him.

Not ideal, but still thoughtful in a strange kind of way really.

Honestly it's sounds like a complete over reaction. Bloke was clearing his car out, he was bu for not putting it in the bin though

And I'm not sure what the manager would do with the registration number either?

Call the Police to trace him and ask him if he could kindly overfill their bin next time, so a member of staff has to empty it sooner?

Placing a carrier bag into the bin bag is hardly 'lugging' his rubbish to be fair.

He never even went inside which is why I think it's cheeky. The bins aren't public, but for McDonald's customers. I think it's properly cheeky to dump rubbish in a business's car park without using said business!

The car park was very clean actually and always is! They have signs up saying there's a fine for littering.

Oh come on, he placed it next to the bin which is hardly 'littering'.

Sometimes people just do what they think is right, and this is what he thought was the right thing to do.

Hardly worth noting his reg, writing it down, passing it to the manager and starting a thread about.

Doesn't surprise me. I was driving through the graveyard, just after Xmas to visit my husband when I passed two women. They were taking black bin bags out of their car and putting them into the bins supplied for the disposal of dead flowers, etc, from the graves.

But why not put it into the bin? Or take it home with him and chuck it there? It's weird to drive into a business just to dump your rubbish! (which is probably all over the car park by now because the bag wasn't tied and it's getting windy!)

You took down his reg number. Because he emptied his car rubbish into a bag and put it in the bin.

Where I live the general waste isn't picked up every week so people do have to find other ways to get rid of things, especially if they live in flats and the smell becomes unbearable, and that can include using street bins. Not ideal, but then we need weekly bin collections.

Mildly cheeky but not disgraceful, unlike the twats who chuck their McDonalds (and other) rubbish out of car windows on the lanes round here. The hedges and verges are full of litter.

If he put it in the bin, he would have been taking up space and a member of staff might have had to empty it sooner.

I don't know why he didn't take it home. Does it really matter?

Also, how do you know he wasn't a customer dumping old McDonald's rubbish that had built up in his van?

Or did you go over and inspect the contents of the bag?

No one NEEDS weekly bin collections! We've had fortnightly here fur aaaaaages and never had a problem that I've had to fly tip!

I've done this myself before. Cleared car of its accumulated rubbish, into a bag then stopped the car put in in the bin, or next to one if it was full. Often at Macdonalds too, after having a drive thru.

I can't see what the problem is?
