I think this is the guy Reggie Yates interviewed after filming one of his sessions in London.

This is the person that Reggie Yates did the prog. about. This Roosh came over as a complete tit, and I wonder if they guys who went found out anything.

I am almost certain that there was someone like this before, American maybe, and there was a huge petition to deny him a visa.
It worked and his tour got cancelled.
I wish I could remember more detail Angry

This is an online screening isn't it? You'd think this is the sort of thing Anonymous might be interested in.

He's American isn't he, trying to get onto Oz too.

Reggie was bloody brilliant in that, I like a lot of what he does.

There's currently a petition to disallow entry, they done the same with another of those 'artists' and he was banned from the uk

Report
LilacSpunkMonkey · 01/02/2016 17:51

I don't think he should be allowed either.

But people will turn up on this thread defending him and saying it's only a laugh or we're taking it too seriously.

The other pick up artist referred to is this guy:

And we're not supposed to turn up to protest, as he'll take our photos and get his internet pals onto us!
What a charming creation.

I was really impressed with Reggie Yates in that docco too. I am conflicted about banning him - not because "he's a laugh" (he isn't and neither was the reprehensible Dapper Laughs who was also on the prog), but because banning them just feeds their false sense of martyrdom. They need to be highlighted and challenged the way Reggie Yates did.

I agree with list; in a way, giving him a platform exposes him more and doesn't allow him to claim that he's misunderstood or a lone wolf fighting for proper sensible justice, or whatever.

I seem to remember when the last one of this sorry type of shitbag was going to come over, someone wrote an article saying the best way to deal with it was for a load of women to come to his shows and just laugh him off the stage.

I'm firmly against censorship unless it's to prevent someone inciting violence. If this guy incited violence (I have no intention of reading his publications to find out) then I'm all for stamping down on him. But if he's just saying unsavoury things he should not be silenced. Free speech is essential to a progressive society and that includes free speech for people we don't like. (I did not support the campaign against Dapper Laughs fwiw.)

Lots of feminists have been raging recently at the way they feel silenced when wanting to raise objections to - for example - the unfair IOC that permits pre-op MTF transsexual athletes to compete against natal women with only a year's hormone treatment. But if we want for ourselves the freedom to speak out we need to defend that freedom for everyone.

So overall unless this guy is actively encouraging his fans to commit violent rape, I don't think he should be banned. Challenged, yes; protested, sure; but not banned.

I've seen some of his 'work' before. He actively encourages men to abuse and control their girlfriends, emotionally, physically and sexually. This is not the same thing as a crappy comedian making a rape joke. This skidmark incites hate crimes against women.

That's a very common MRA tactic.

Someone should go and interview his family and any acquaintance (I doubt he has friends) and try and find out what happened to him to make him so hateful, then try and stop it happing to anyone else.

I'm surprised where ever he is from allow him to go forth and represent them, he needs specialist help.

Report
venusinscorpio · 01/02/2016 18:12

He describes actually raping someone.
