I cleaned that loo so well that the landing didn't stink of wee; and tonight, there is piss behind the seat round the fixings of the seat....... Am I alone? Why can't he piss into the loo, oh have MERCY on me.

YANBU.

Hand him a pack of dettol wipes on exit.

Well I don't have any boys but I simply would not stand for this. I hear of grown men doing it too and think "Why didn't their parents teach them better!?"

My DH NEVER does this.

I think you need to check constantly and every time he does it, hand him the cleaning implements and make him do it. He will soon get the hang.

Not Dettol wipes....rubber gloves, a cloth. bleach....make it most inconvenient for him. Wipes too easy!

Report
ouryve · 26/06/2015 23:55

Of course - I only use dettol wipes because they smell nice.

Cif wipes leave me with nicely chapped fingers :o (And clean better)

YANBU but YABover-optimistic when many men of my acquaintance don't seem to do much better.

I second the dettol wipes!

Kids love choices, offer them:

  1. Piss in the loo
  2. Don't piss in the loo, but clean it up
  3. Don't piss in the loo, don't clean it up, do find pictures of your efforts on mum's fb page

Balloons with all due respect to you that's a crock of poo. Men and boys can ALL aim properly unless they have a disability.

I have DSs and feel your pain.

I feel your pain, with 2 DSs and a DP who swears blind it isn't him I am constantly mopping up piss. I've recently tasked ds1 with cleaning the main bathroom as I'm so fed up with it.

I've tried putting a ping pong ball with a target drawn on it for something to aim at. Ive tried writing passive aggressive notes with a dry-wipe pen on the inside of the lid, tried making them clean it up, taking turns as I don't know/care who did it.

Funnily enough I put one of those hideous carpet mats around the pedestal and its been much better since then! Maybe the idea of piss on the carpet is so off putting that they're managing to keep it in the hole.

My next step is to put a photo of something/one they love behind the loo so the pee goes all over it, trying to guilt them into being a better aim. My initial suggestion was a photo of my face but ds2 said that a photo of the cat might be more effective Hmm

I have 3 boys & a DH. Whilst DH only misses when drunk (& that's not often), the DSs (17,16,12) are hopeless! I use a mat under the loo that gets washed more often than my knickers, as they hit the floor more often than not!

Not only that but one of them (assume it's the DS12!) can't be bothered to lift the seat so when I go, I get up to realise my arse is wet! Yukity yuk yuk! (Replace the y with a f - trying to be polite!)

Report
DollyTwat · 27/06/2015 00:12

2 ds here and both seem to find lifting the seat too hard. I've taken to always putting the lid down after I go, so they have to lift the seat. Also got a steam cleaner for doing the back of the loo as I can't stand doing it

I'm actually so relived that it isn't just my ds's (11 & 13) that do this.... I've been gnashing my teeth wondering where I've gone wrong! I do insist they clear it up IF I know who it was but when they both say "it's not me!" I can't deal with the wailing when I say they both have to clear it up. It's on the back of the toilet round the fittings, on the floor, on the wall and on the seat and it drives me insane! We have a new cloakroom being fitted and the bathroom being replaced soon - it stinks of wee - it's horrible! I don't want my new rooms to smell! I'm half tempted to lock the doors so they have to ask me for the key - at least I'll know who it was and who has to clear up!

Ooh. Good idea daisy. I like that one!

Report
TheHouseOnBellSt · 27/06/2015 00:19

Daisy make them take turns...one boy's turn for one week then the other's...see if it improves and then you can work out who does it.

Make them clean it up

My STBEH seemed totally incompetent when it came to aiming straight, and wiping himself afterwards (he never wiped anything, not least the offending appendage).

Now I have an 18mo DS - I hope that housetraining him is easier!!

Report
whois · 27/06/2015 00:20

FFS sort it out and send him back every time. It's parents who just wrong their hands but don't do anything about it that produce those foul men who think it's ok to piss everywhere and leave it for someone else to clean up.

All men can either aim properly or sit down. There is no reason a man needs to piss on the toilet or behind it or on the floor. Fucking rank.

Report
Momagain1 · 27/06/2015 00:30

Dh can aim. My brothers can aim, or at least could when they lived at home. My DS has never cared much about standing. Which is convenient for me, but I worry sooner or later that might be a bullying point at school.

Report
abigamarone · 27/06/2015 00:38

Mine used to do this. Aged appoximately 8 + 13. Six months of making both of them clean the bathroom cured it. I don't understand why anyone would put up with this.

100redballoons · 27/06/2015 00:39

I totally agree House. They all CAN, they just can't be arsed.

Glad to say I live alone now, so it's no longer an issue Smile

Report
Trills · 27/06/2015 00:42

They CAN either aim or clean after their bad aim.

Report
RedandYellow24 · 27/06/2015 00:43

Can you get hold of some that blue paper rolls like use for hand drying in loos? Then place around loo seat and floor. Then once it's wet it's really obvious to see. Maybe they can't see where they are spraying it..... Grasping at straws.

Make him clean it up every single time. And never, ever clean it up yourself.

I agree with whois that those who complain about it but clear it up themselves are actually enabling the culprits. Consequences not lectures change behaviour.

For those with more than one offender in the household, I'd recommend a bit of the 'life's not fair' approach and simply make whoever is to hand clear it up. Your refusal to clean it up yourself or to give in to the misdirection will result in them turning on each other and enforcing it themselves. It may take time for the approach to work, but it is well worth it.

Unless someone is disabled, why would any sane, self-respecting adult clear up someone else's piss?

There is a rule in my house, everyone sits down to pee.
No debate, no discussion, just the death stare.
What happens at school or any where else is fine but in my house, it's my rules.
Even my dad obeys this rule Grin

Put his towel behind the loo. Should remain clean if he aims, if not, he gets to rub it all over himself after a shower.
