So dd is 3 in Jan, and I've got her everything she wanted for Xmas. I've got her for her bday, a tablet kids one cost 42.00, desk cost 19.99, duplo cost 19.99, dressing up trunk 24.99, two dresses I've had made for her 26 each. And a play house cost 179.99. I'll get her craft bits to go with the desk but do you think that's enough or am I being tight. I'm also going to get her the frozen wand that sings that she wants that's 12.99.

Is this a joke? Do you mean you have split the gifts up between Xmas and her birthday.

Are the gifts you have written down here only for her birthday?

If so how on earth can you mention the word tight? Grin

Are you having a laugh £300 just on a 3yr olds birthday gifts and you think your being tight?!

Any one of those I would class as a 'main' present. My DC get one main present for their birthdays, plus little things.

That's just got her birthday. Then yes I think you are being "tight" although not in the way you think. There is such a thing as too many expensive gifts especially for a three year old.

And I thought I had gone over my budget by spending £30 on dd's birthday present this year.

Different strokes and all that.

The house is to replace the one we left when we moved. Tablet to keep her of ours, so them two are her main ones really

Think I'll get her some paints, paper, pencils from the pound shop and leave it at that. Thanks all.

If you have the money to spend then that's fine and she will love her presents but I just got my daughter 2 second hand sylvanian families houses with accessories and that's it and she was absolutely thrilled and had told everyone what a lovely birthday she had and how much she loves her presents. They really don't ever think you are being 'tight' at that age, as long as the presents are ones you have thought about and know she will love then quality (as in its suitability to them) is far more important than quantity imo

That's the house I've got her. Quite a big saving on the original price.

Are you the same poster that comes on here periodically to say; I've spent £50 million pounds on 1000 presents for my kid, am I being tight?

For God's sake can you read a newspaper or gain some kind of awareness of the lives of other people before you post this shite? There are people up and down the country that are going to struggle to buy anything for their children and you post this pointless boastful nonsense. I have no problem with people spending a fortune on their kids and spoiling them - none of my business after all. I do have a problem with them rubbing other people's noses in it!

Come on, people! She knows she isn't being tight. It's a weird not so stealth boast thread.
