DH says I'm imagining it but I couldn't fit a whole one in my gob before.

Anyone else noticed?

all chocolate has shrunk so you get charged more for less chocolate

My gob hasn't got bigger but all my teeth have fallen out from eating too many cream eggs. Grin

All chocolate has shrunk!

A twix is now gone in two bites. Hmm

I think they have changed the filling this year!
Used to live off them but they just have an odd taste now. Had to test 3 or 4 just to check though Grin

I swear they used to fit in my springy egg cup as a child. Now they are lost in a normal egg cup.

Point of order - they're called creme eggs. While this might be dismissed as pedantry, it's important - somehow 'cream egg' just sounds absolutely gross, whereas somehow the correct spelling sounds and looks like the deliciousness it represents!

Having this conversation the other day they are definitely smaller - but as others have said so is everything else like chocolate and crisps.

Cant stand the bloody things now. Whatever they have done to them they are just hideous. I would love to have a selection of cadburys products from 10 years ago to compare to the crap the sell now. There is no way it is the same.

Don't know if they've shrunk but I love that you tried to shove a whole one in your mouth to find out - top research method there Grin

Although I have to say the best thing about a crème egg is carefully biting the top third off and licking out the insides, so your post has made me a little sad for you.

I did put 'creme' eggs first but it looked wrong. Second attempt with 'creame eggs' looked worse. So I gave in and put 'cream eggs' even though I knew it was wrong and blame it all on living abroad and no longer being fluent in my native language.Blush

it also seems to depend on where you live as googling suggests they are smaller and lighter in the USA/Canada than they are in the UK. 34g in USA/Canada and 39g in the UK

Report
WestieMamma · 27/03/2014 12:18

They were bought in the UK in Asda so I've checked the box to see if they are dodgy foreign imports. 39.5g each. Quick check of a 10 year old WW shopping guide gives the weight as 40g. Half a g cannot possibly account for this shrinkage. I need someone to post me some more so I can conduct further weight analysis as the cat ate all the ones I had. Honest she did. Really.

They are tiny. In a few years they will be invisible. I have to have two now if I have one so I don't bother as trying to cut down on chocolate.

I'm sure they have.
I ate 12 last week then suffered with toothache.

YANBU! The mini ones aren't that much smaller than a full-size one.

Wotsits have gone miniscule now too. Like Bobby's Snacks rip-off versions.

yanbu. My Grandad would be most upset if he were with us today (he invented the process of getting the creme bit in the egg, worked for cadbury's for 50 years) :) :(

All cadbury's chocolate has gone downhill since kraft took over.

It makes me very snippy when I think about it.
