meh it is dancing and taking clothes off do you think pole dancing is artistic I personaly dont have anything against it I just don't see the 'art' in it, the women do look fantastic though Envy

I wrote my dissertation on this subject! Far too tired to discuss it now but is a really interesting debate :)

I suppose it could be considered an art form if it's done extremely well.

But then so could most things really.

It's one of those topics that fascinates me. Where dancing as an art meets stripping which is not an art I suppose

I think some forms of it can be very artistic but a lot of the time it is just women taking their clothes off with a few feathers and nipple pasties for fun. I have nothing against it and if I had a better body I'd love to try it.

I have never seen it, nor really know much about it, but I do like

do you think it is because it is an older form of stripping where it had a bit more mystery to it ? it really is just stripping though

It's like most things of yesteryear, less brash and in your face than things that go on now. Saying that a lot of things we consider art were frowned upon and hated by contemporaries.

Art is subjective. It's art if you think/say it's

it can be seen as a bit seaside postcadry though a bit naughty and cheeky which doesn't seem as threatening ( maybe not the word i want) than full on in your face lapdancing

I agree mrsjay, I think it's quite popular because it leaves more to the imagination.

It's as my nan and my mum always say. Don't give it all up on the first date and always leave them wanting more. That and always carry an air of mystery.

I feel like an old fart but I agree with them

I don't mind it but at my dd1s (3) dance show last week at all the kids had danced4 mothers came on in corsets anddid an excruciating burlesque attempt in front of an audience of bored siblings

That I think was not art. ....

Yes Minty.......from someone who spent 9 months intensively researching burlesque and other forms of striptease, including the history of it and the is it an art form debate, and then write a 10000 word dissertation on the subject, yes, I do find it an interesting debate.
