Put on a collar and tie to do the shopping at Tesco....

Think that beige socks and brown sandals is acceptable footwear at any time of year....

Eat Werthers Originals......

Think that taking 12 strands of 5 inch long hair from one ear to the other then plastering to my shiny pate with god knows what takes 20 years off me and actually looks anything other than ridiculous....

Wear a Polo shirt three sizes too small and tuck it into my jeans with the brown leather belt pulled three inches too tight, cutting off the circulation to both legs (my DF's favourite dress code for every outing)

Think that a trip to a garden centre is a 'really lovely day out'

Become a racist, homophobic git......

Any one with any more fears for old age??

... be treated by my sons, their wives and families the way some people on here treat their elderly mothers.

Then again I hope I never turn into one of Those Sorts of MiL that warrants such treatment!

Op you forgot wearing the obligatory Farrah trousers for every occassion. Three colours, beige, navy, dark brown as standard with the oh so trendy little yellow designer "F" label.

As someone who works with the elderly I hope I don't become invisible and unworthy of listening to just because I am in my later years. I hope people treat me with respect and protect my dignity. I hope when I am vulnerable and can no longer speak for myself that someone who cares will do so on my behalf.

You forgot about the purple/blue/pink rinse that old ladies have.

I hope that I will never lose my grip on reality enough that I start to treat the Daily Mail as the Source Of All Truth and base all of my opinions on what I read therein.

YANBU

Hope that when I get old I will never:

Forget that when I was seven I looked forward to old age as it's acceptable to have blue hair.

Look back and think "What if...."

Forget that I was once young and didn't understand how hard it is being old and forgive others for the same.

I fear getting motor neurone disease as most of the elderly members of one side of my family.

I will be chuffed to bits if I am able to put my own clothes on when I'm old and will be over the moon if i can carry on being able to tell my children I love them to the day I die.

I think this was meant to be a light hearted thread, I probably shouldn't have commented.

I am not sure I like this thread... I realise that it is tongue in cheek though.

I like to think that when I am old I will not care what colour my trousers are as long as they are comfortable, enjoy a pot of tea and a scone at a garden centre and will eat werthers original IF I like them

I actually like the way the older you get the more you dress for comfort and practicality.

I already wear socks and sandals (super comfy!) and smell of wee rather too often.

I hope I don't become susceptible to con men.

Describe women in short skirts as being 'fast'.
