How do you know they don't? They're extinct because they refused to go onto Noah's Ark!

My dear old mum ( Salvation Army and Baptised Christian type woman) asked me if they were real but extinct?

Are Unicorns any less/more believable than Pegasus?

Report
MissFaversam · 29/06/2012 21:02

I believe telly tubbies are real coz I pass their house on the way to my mums and I KNOW they are in there making tubby custard.

Are we punching unicorns now? What about Pegasus?

A girl in one of my Year 8 classes refused to believe me when I told her that unicorns were fictional. Nothing that I - or anyone else in the class - said would convince her that they weren't just a rare type of horse.

Isn't Pegasus a unicorn?Blush

Pegasus has wings but no horn.

And IIRC there's only one Pegasus.

Unicorns are quite obviously imho a fantasy/elaboration of ancient sightings of one horned deer like creatures - there is a theory to do with narwhals blended with deer/ibex/antelope (something to do with the vikings wanting to cash in on a haul of ivory? only a vague memory I have)

The unicorns mentioned in the bible are mentioned in the King James which isnt generally regarded as a reliable bible translation (by most scholars/Christians I know of)

The Christians I respect most dont believe in the literal exsistence of Unicorns.

Unicorns can only be touched by virgin maids,

Which is why you don't see many tripping round Romford Hmm

SillyBeardyDaddyman · 29/06/2012 21:17

The narwhal thing is interesting, but redundant. You don't see many narwhal frolicking around the forest and equally not many unicorns swimming in the arctic...

Unicorns do NOT have wings. They fly on magic fairy dust.

I am a Christian and I do believe in unicorns. And for my DDs sake I will never say anything different on either subject - until they are old enough to start questioning and thinking and having intelligent discussion about it!

They also don't believe in waiting for sex until marriage anymore apparently your life partner will do as I was told by a 19 year old student the other day who is of on mission work.

Disclaimer I am not a Christian and had 2 babies before marriage but I think it's interesting the goal posts have moved Hmm
