AIBU?

to leave the poo in the bath for DH to deal with?

Dh is usually home in time to bath dd (18 months), read her bedtime stories while she has her milk and put her to bed. I'm always pretty wiped out by the time he gets here and it's really nice to hand over and go and sit down for a bit. Tonight dh rang up at teatime and asked if I'd mind if he went out for a drink after work instead. I said that was fine as long as he isn't really late as I had an early start this morning to go and visit a friend who lives 2 hours drive away.

In the bath, dd did a poo. I really hate that. She's only done it a handful of times and it's always been dh who has cleared it up. This is mainly because the first time it happened I was in the throes of morning sickness and the sight of it made me want to vom, so bath poos kind of became his job.

I've got dd into bed, and now I should go and clean up the mess. But I'm really, really tempted to leave it for dh to do when he comes home. Is that so unreasonable? It's been a hectic, though pleasant day and I'm really knackered. I'm past the morning sickness stage now so that's no excuse, but I have done my back in carrying dd around with soft pregnant ligaments so it would be quite painful leaning over the bath sorting it out. Please tell me I can leave it for dh and I'm not just being a lazy arse!

It would be unreasonable, it'd be like punishing him for going out.

It wouldn't take that long surely, kneel down if it'll hurt your back.

Good try on not doing it though Grin

Clean it up- i sympathise with pregnancy fatigue but why should dh clear it up?

I sympathise, but it will be poo soup shortly and that is pretty minging (we have a bath poo-er). I would clean it.

Ew! Go and sort it now! How can you chill out knowing there is poo soup in the bath?

Yeah, that's really not nice. You should clear it up, if it was the other way around I bet you'd be really annoyed to come home to that.

So you've been swanning around visiting friends today while he's been at work... And you're thinking of leaving shit in the bath for him to clear up just because he normally gets home from work and does bath time but for once has gone out with his mates?

Are you for real?

Jeez, all this over a bit of poo. Go in get some wipes scoop, flush and spray some cleaner round the bath.

You sound very high maintenance.

YABU firstly because it must be making your bathroom stink and secondly, it seems really unfair to leave it for your DH to deal with just because he has gone out tonight. As someone already said, shit happened on your watch so it's up to you to deal with!
