There's more to those, than trying to be sexually attractive, and thus a greater potential for building athletic skill. And if you have talent, you can enter competitions, and get medal. With the latter two, you can learn to defend yourself.

If you want sleazy, you should see freestyle disco dancing competitions. There was one at the weekend, where DD does gymnastics.

If you want to see pre-pubescent girls with fake tan, hair extensions, false eyelashes and blingtastic cutaway leotards prowl and pout their way round the judges, then this would be your thing.

The shame is that it looks like an energetic and fun sport, but it is so hypersexualised that I wouldn't want a young DD of mine to do it. Honestly, I watched 7 year old slink into the arena with a hip-rolling walk that would've done justice to a 30 year old hooker.
