I have the same problem. Everyone asking me and I have no idea.

I’m the same. I’d rather go on holiday than get more gifts.

I was 42 yesterday.
My dh has arranged and paid for a night away without dd in a few months (we realistically can't go before then alas). I'm ridiculously excited! We've not left her before (She's 2) and I'm looking forward to a full night sleep.
I'm getting a paperwhite with the money I was given, and left over money will go on wool.

Not at all helpful but I'd like the Alessi nativity - my birthday is later in the year. Can justify it near Christmas and it's just stunning.
Probably new sunnies, but I live in the tropics ..... happy birthday OP!

A stackers jewellery box.

I have several tiers already, but would like another tier for my ear rings as I have so many pairs.

A fleecy teddy bear hoodie I've just seen in the go outdoors catalogue.

A soup maker.

Bubble bath
Candles

I want what I've wanted since having children...

A weekend alone... could be away by myself or it could be at home by myself. I just want to be alone... it sounds sad.... but I have small children and I'm never alone!

All I want is a new baby so there is nothing I relate to I. Anyone wanting away for their kids

I have two adults children but I had a tfmr 2 years ago at the age of 44. It's a bit hard and I cant relate to anyone wanting away from their kids . All I want is a baby.

I'm after purely materialistic stuff please!

For my birthday, my dh who is a supremely logical & practical person bought me a dab radio alarm clock. Not my first choice of gift and I suspect it's because he struggles to wake up in the morning. So more for his benefit than mine.

However, I did receive from my family/friends the following:

  • Money from my mum which I bought the latest Ian Rankin & Robert Galbraith books with

  • hotel chocolate 3 mini selection packs from dsis

  • flowers from friend

  • Champneys Spa toiletries from brother & sil

I will buy myself a spring coat as a gift to myself next pay day & maybe a double stranded necklace.

I got cookery books, an old brass enamelled bowl from India, an old necklace with a pink and green stone, nail polish, a silk pillowcase, a make up bag, a book token, a really interesting looking book about the history of women in 100 objects, moisturiser, poetry books. I was really lucky!

Not really much help now but set up an Amazon wish list or a Pinterest board ("birthday ideas") then when you see stuff randomly throughout the year you can add them to your lists.

I always go for a plant or flowers and some nice chocs from dh the rest of the money to be spent on a meal out or an outing (or a takeaway if we are a bit skint).

I was 67 on Tuesday. I got some black lace up boots and flowers from my husband.
We only do token gifts as we got to Tenerife for three weeks shortly.what I would’ve loved
1 My friends children to be given back to her after a judge gave them to their abusive father
2 My son, who was dismissed yesterday from his job to get a really good paying job where they can all live well.
3 Better health for me and my husband.

Those would be the presents of all and because of one and two is probably the reason why I’m not feeling so good as I can’t think of anything else ☹️

Set yourself up a wish list on amazon. Every time you think of something you would like, add it to the list. Then give your DP the link...

New bra (and matching knickers if feeling fancy... and the matching ones aren't too flim-flam)
Tkmaxx vouchers so I could just buy whatever caught my eye when I'm next in.
Really nice face cream that doesn't sting, soaks in easily and makes me look like my 2 DC don't wake me up at all hours
Naice bottle of red wine
A couple of new clients or a nice new job
DH to keep improving out of his anxiety issues
Chocolate

Only 11.5 months to wait til my bday! Grin
