This year I'm planning to start earlier than usual and wrapping as I go. Has anyone found any cheap wrapping paper online?

I'm determined to be more organised this year OP, haven't seen too much in the way of wrapping paper etc but saw on here that john lewis xmas online shop is open so i'm sure it wont be too long.

OP Studio24 sell Christmas stuff all year round, and the wrapping paper is surprisingly good quality for the price

Don't worry Flottila , my DH said something much stronger when I dared mention the 'C' word in July.

My dc are far too sneaky to risk leaving anything unwrapped. Plus I hate wrapping with a passion. A few things here and there I can cope with. A full day buggering round finding the end of tape and vanishing scissors I cannot.

Costco sell huge rolls of really good quality paper.
I bought 4 rolls (all different patterns) with the 'grid' on the back to make cutting easier.

Or there's a double sided huge roll (but it's a younger child pattern)

Last year I did gift boxes and gift bags but lined them with tissue paper (Costco again) and tidied with ribbon.

If you do go to Costco they sell Christmas things from September

My wrapping tips ( giving it to someone else is an option )

Get all the presents into piles and wrap each persons present in their own patterned paper so you don't need to read the tags.

The ironing board is the ideal height to wrap on.

Good sharp scissors

Tape on a dispenser, the ones will the cutting blade. You don't lose the end.

The other place it might be good to look is Tiger - they have lots of different colours of plain paper and you can jazz it up with different ribbons or tags.

Wrapping as you go is a laudable aim. But wrapping from early September once the DCs are back at school is still getting well ahead of the game and you're able to pick the early crop of this year's M&S wrap on 3for2 offers.

I got mine for 30p a roll last January from Wilkinsons. Not much help to you now op, but something to maybe bear in mind for next Christmas. It's decent stuff too, and like a pp has done I got several different designs so I have enough for one for each person to save having to look for tags.

Primark randomly have Christmas paper at the tills at our local one. It's cheap £1 a roll, but usually 10m long.

As previous posters have said, buying after Christmas for the following year can be a total bargain. I got lots of lovely good quality matching paper, ribbons and tags from M&S in January. Sorry that's not helpful!

This time of year you might be better getting plain paper and customising with nice ribbons and tags (which you are sure to ins on interne all year round or in hobby craft)

I went completely over board on paper last year. Have several rolls of Thomas paper left which I should be able to this year too as ds2 is still obsessed. I did have a couple of rolls of frozen paper too and dd has completely over frozen so I've been using r to wrap up birthday presents all year!

loads of places have reduced paper I got some great shiny, phsyadelic stuff that could be in corportated into xmas wrapping

My tips would be:

Buy plain red paper - still christmassy but can be used all year round.

Use old or left over Christmas cards for gifttags (but make sure tags are well secured otherwise, as i have found, you end up unwrapping them to find out who it is for!)

Washti tape is easier than sellotape (but doesnt stick on some very shiny papers)

Cheap gift boxes - cupcake boxes on amazon, they come flat packed and you make then up, put tissue paper in, tie a ribbon round, voila!

I got tons of proper christmas sacks for £1 in poundland last year, great for grouping presents together.

Plain brown paper can look great with red and white gingham ribbon - both sold all year round.

I bought Ikea christmas wrapping paper last year, after seeing it recommended on here.
It was very good quality, much better than M&S which I would have usually used.
However, it wasn't was nice as the M&S stuff, no nice pictures etc. More plain and striped. And the tags were yuk. I bought the gold sticky labels for the kids stuff.
I'm hoping they have better selection this year.

Another vote for the costco wrapping paper. The huge reversable single rolls are better than the three packs. Also the wired ribbon is fabulous

Where can I get grid backed wrapping paper now? Doesn't necessarily have to be Christmas's.

My local Hobbycraft has lots of rolls of Christmas paper in today, all in the clearance section. I think it was 60p.

m&s grid backed and I think Next is too. I'm after matte white wrapping paper. Anyone?
