hard to buy for seven year old girl

She doesn't ask Santa for anything, just had a birthday and didn't want anything in particular. Has got but doesn't play with Lego, playmobile, shopkins, Barbie etc we have loads of stationary and crafts and board games. Has bike scooter pram etc

Any ideas?

We have a smiggle in my town. It's very popular - it opened in summer and loads of DD's friends have the lunch boxes, school bags etc.

One of DD's main presents each year is a bag of books - some regular ones for her to read herself but also some really lovely gift editions, you know the bigger hardback colour illustrated type thing - stuff I read to her at bedtime.

Or what about story CDs?

I've bought my 7 year old (and her 10 year old sister) concert tickets to see a boy band as their main present. I'll also get her some art/crafts stuff, walkie talkies that she asked for, a couple of books and jigsaws or games and a few outfits as she loves clothes.

Oh yes DD got rollerblades for her 7th, absolutely loves them. They are No Fear ones from sports direct IIRC, only £20 as on sale at the time.

Took her to hamleys in summer, after two hours still couldn't find anything she particularly wanted and same in toys are us. I have twins and the other seven year old has firm ideas of what she wants.
The hard to buy for dd spends loads of time doing arts and crafts loves making bracelets watching you tube and copying. But we have crafts, stationary and bracelets making sets galore. The two dds play together a lot, lots of imaginary play but not involving toys e.g they play families but not using dolls, prams etc. she does a lot of sport and organised activities. When she does like a toy she plays with it a short while then loses interest so furbys, Carla dolls etc aren't worth it. She has roller skates and her sister has a camera that she isn't interested in.

Two ideas I will follow up are the disco ball and I haven't ever heard of smiggle but googled and we have one near us so will go there and have a look.

Climbing lesson is a good idea too, both would like that. I have a few things booked at the theatre already and she just went horse riding. I should have saved the theatre tickets for Xmas present! note to self for next year.


I should be glad she is totally non materialistic and doesn't ask for anything! Sure she will make up for it in future years. Have got her books and an electronic diary and lots of stocking things. Just need a main present. She says she has wished to Santa for things but that she can't remember what they are!

I am wondering about an MP3 player she borrows my iPod quite a bit.

Also I bought a fluffy snood for myself at weekend and she keeps wearing that.

I've got mine a microscope and a book of microscope experiments to go with it. Last year I got her a bucket of polydron which she still plays with a lot, and she also loves her Hex bug set.

She has build a bear, was excited to get it and never played with it again. Shoes for bear not even been taking out of packaging. Will have a look at polydron not heard of that

my dds LOVE theirs and wear them all year (well not height of summer but pretty much 10 months a year) and at the price they are they are definitely a main present.

She has goretex boots that are waterproof and very warm she doesn't know what uggs are.

Perhaps she should just have a tangerine and be done with it.

I have a similar 7 year old. Last year I got her a Hudl which went down a storm and she still uses it loads. She LOVES google earth #geek

This year we are getting her an electric guitar, she has mentioned music lessons at school. We are just getting a basic Monster High themed one from Argos for now and obviously will review as if it takes off. Also a pair of Heelies.

Well, I didn't know Smiggle had infiltrated the uk!

Your dd sounds like my oldest who is 10 now. She has never played in the traditional sense.

Has she any djeco art sets? They are beautiful high quality sets.

Another thing my dd enjoys is a pad of black player and metallic markers.

Oh, and those 'Top Model' pads that are the outline of a body and you draw the clothes.
