I absolutely love the morning after Halloween. I've just taken the decorations down, I'm going out to buy the December issue of Good Food later and I'm going to settle down with my pressies spreadsheet this evening and admire it.

Anyone else feeling that Christmas is a whole lot closer this morning?

Yes definitely. It's time to start wrapping the presents so they don't end up being done last minute.

Yes, our halloween decorations are all in a box waiting to go into the shed later. DP was chuckling at me last night, I was tutting at all the orange in our kitchen, I much prefer Christmas colours! On Monday when the DCs are at school am going to have a sort through of the Christmas decorations as I think they were shoved away in a bit of a rush last year.

When can we start the baileys?

Yes so glad Halloween is over as its DS2's birthday and always have a big party. Can now concentrate on Christmas!!

I popped into Sainsburys first thing this morning and there was no trace of Halloween left & shelves were stacked high with Christmas goodies. I admit I brush off all talk of Christmas from the DCs but underneath I'm actually quite excited Grin

Yes but better when bonfire night is out of the way and a small matter of a baby due this week, then I can get properly Christmassy Grin

It needs to get a bit colder too, far too mild here!

ClashCityRocker · 01/11/2014 12:06

dilsy good luck with the new baby!

I agree it wants to get colder. I love the cool, crisp mornings.

I'm trying in vain to delay my christmas-y ness this year, I tend to peak to early. But this is my favourite time of year without a doubt.

It's also the one time of the year I buy good housekeeping magazine!

Normally I start "official" Christmas planning on 1 nov as it is a nice 55 days to go and once it's Guy Fawkes we are down to 50 and the time starts flying by.

We've already watched Home Alone this morning! Although watching it as an adult, that film makes me rather cross for a thousand reasons. Going to try to get dd to watch Elf with me later!!!!

Ooh yes. Love it when it finally hits November, then it really feels close. A month today and the decorations will be up! Grin Cannot wait. I haven't taken the Halloween decorations down yet though, think I'll cling to them for a while to keep some form of festivity in the house Wink.

Weather is getting in the way here too, kids are playing outside in t shirts and we have just cut the grass ( very odd for November ), hopefully the colder weather next week will help.

I'm itching to go to the local garden centre who has their Christmas display set up, I might have to go this afternoon as I. Just too excited. Dh and I are going Christmas shopping on Tuesday whilst the dd's are at school.

Yesterday was first time we have really done proper Halloweenie things and put more decorations than just a pumpkin up despite having a 12 and 14 yr old. Maybe because now on my own ( well have lovely dp) decided to embrace new things that exh wouldn't be keen on. 12 yr old loved it.

I got all my xmas prezzies out last night to see what got and if I can resist buying more for kids and dp I am almost done apart from 4 others that I know what I am getting. Very very excited about it all and will be decorating house with lots of new things.
Only down side was I stacked boxes on a ledge above stairs and this morning they decided to leap off and crash down the stairs scaring me to death. Luckily nothing broke. so now got find somewhere safer.

I love love love this time of year too.
I've been writing lists and plotting planning things. I like to think of myself as a swan , serene image but paddling away like mad. DH thinks I'm more like a shark. Ominous dark shape in the deep water that if you ignore me, I'll go away (cheeky blighter)

Still have the fireworks to look forward to.
Had a nice Hallowe'en.

Eyeing up some winter clothes but there's not much point at the moment.

We have some nice Christmas things planned.
I'm writing in my notebook and my planner on the pakoota

I have Christmas Bedding
My No7 Advent Calender
Flu Jab done
Crackers
My new dishwasher is installed Grin

Just need to brave the crowds and get the shopping done ( hopefully before the end of November) which frees up time for food shopping
