Just looking for inspiration really! Ours loves anything with an engine so we'll be adding to his train track and getting various cars. Also planning to get ikea kitchen between him and dd (1).

Things we've considered getting ds:

New scooter
Build a bear
Fire engine ( Costco)
A truck ( haven't looked yet)
Spider-Man toy
Wallow talkies

He really wants a chocolate lolly maker.

Train table will be main prezzie with a few smaller bits and pieces; orchard games, books, chic coin maker. His birthday is a few weeks before Xmas. Considering a bike and a cash register and dressing up box for that.

Chocolate coin. Not chic coin. That would be horribly inappropriate!

Imaginext batcave, furby rocker, dressing up outfit, books.

His birthday is 2 weeks after and for that I am stumped!

My ds is 3.4 and also loves anything with an engine! This year he will be getting some thomas take n play engines, vtech switch n go dino, fireman sam fire station, book sets from book people (ladybird classics & julia donaldson), box of lego starter kit thingy and thinking of getting a few bits of wooden play food for his kitchen too. Will watch this thread for more ideas as trying to mix it up a bit rather than buy all cars/trucks! Smile

Great ideas!

I've gotten him the Julia Donaldson set too!

His 4th birthday is actually a month after Christmas so I'll be spreading these ideas between the two.

He does like fireman sam so might look into that.

I'm thinking about some playmobil or characters of some sort to get him playing 'with' a bit more.

I've asked family for more dress ups and Lego city items to go with the Lego set.

My ds and will be 3.7. I have got him

Playmobil Camper Van and camping tent set,
Octopod and Gup E
Octonauts melamine dinner set
Musical instrument
Books including space facts and dinosaurs.

Stocking has some dinosaur toys and themed bits and pieces, more track for his railway and a new wooden engine.

Ideas I've given to others (or last minute twitches for me!) include switch and go dinos, playmobil police or fire stuff, lego juniors sets, playdough cake maker.

Tbh he wouldn't have usually got such a lot of 'big' items but we got the camper van stuff free with vouchers, then knew he really wanted the octopod, so he got that. Otherwise we probably would gave got more smaller trucks and things, dressing up stuff etc.

He would love a build-a-bear.

He also loves lego but as we've got a crawling baby at the moment we're holding off on more of that for the time being!

Main present will be a leapfrog pag thing. Then some Dragons characters including a flaming Toothless, dress up outfit, a DVD, several books and many small cheap things he'll think are brilliant but will only play with for 10 mins so no point spending real money on.

I bought one of those advent calendars that you need to fill yourself (which am already slightly regretting) so he'll also get 24 tiny presents in the run up.

The challenge is trying to guess what he'll actually play with for more than a few hours. Hmm

I'm not sure. He has te main things ie bike/ scooter etc already

I think just some Lego tbh.

Also some books, I think he's ready for the next stage of books as he's had Julia Donaldson etc since newborn so both he and us are getting bored

From us DS is having as his main presents:
Lego chima set
Playmobil fire station (ebay bargain - he got the fire engine, boat & ambulance last yr & plays with it loads so wanted to add to it)
Kidizoom camera
Planes 2 Cabbie & smokejumpers
Set of early reading books
and no doubt a few other little bits & bobs!

From family:
Lego city set
Kids illuminated globe
Dragon onesie
pop up pirate, orchard toys games
HTTYD2 & Planes 2 dvd's

Last year we bought waaayyyy too much & some of it is still barely played with, so trying to make a conscious effort to cut down on volume & get just a few bigger presents that we know he will really love.

Just incase it helps anyone else, things he has really loved playing with over the last year include:
Duplo/Lego & Playmobil
Disney Cars/Planes diecast toys
Octonauts toys

Things that haven't been played with as much as we expected:
Jake & the Neverland playset (despite this being the most coveted item last Christmas)
V-tech switch & go dinos (these are actually pretty good but for whatever reason only get occasional use)
Imaginext Batcave (this seems to be a great toy but think it might get more use if we add some baddies)
Buzz Light Year (all singing all dancing interactive job. He's top heavy so won't stand up & DS gets frustrated)

DS 4 in February at the moment is getting:

A football goal
Lego juniors construction set
A marble run (got this last year but never gave it as DD was crawling around)
Lots of books (Alfie x10 and the Aliens love underpants set from the book people)
Stocking stuff

He'll share with his younger sister a playdoh set, some gardening stuff and some other toys for the garden (not sure what though!)

MIL is buying him some more of the ELC build it set and I thought I'd suggest to other family some hot wheels stuff as he doesn't have any but I thought he'd like it.

I'm also going to look at some of the other stuff other people have suggested as a lot of the stuff can't really be played with immediately.

Just seem the price of the umizoomi car. Why are kids character toys so expensive and why don't they have more range of umizoomi in uk?
