How can I do Yoga?

I'm a bit hyperactive, particularly my brain, and I find it really difficult to relax and concentrate on anything for long. I'm worried that I'll find yoga boring and won't be able to get into the movements and the breathing routine.

Can anybody give me any insight into how I can focus and concentrate in order to be able to do it? How do I prepare my mindset?

I did Pilates, but only went to two classes.

Choose the right one!
Not kundalini. Maybe not hatha.
I love iyengar. Lots to think about in the poses. The relaxation isn't just lie there and think of nothing!
Other types of yoga might also suit you.

I would recommend a proper true beginners class where they focus closely on your posture and position in poses - ashtanga schools often have this.

Ashtanga is more paced so less boring, which I prefer, but I also like other styles, though the 'resporative' yoga classes do bore me unless it is a saturday morning hangover class.

I got bored with Hatha yoga.

I now do ashtanga yoga--it's a class with just 4 people so there's lots of attention from the teacher. I really enjoy it. I didn't realise before I started this class that there are so many different types/approaches to yoga.

Yes to ashtanga for those who struggle to be still. Yours never really still in ashtanga but because your whole focus is on the flow your brain still gets to relax while also being busy. I love it.
