Should I advertise in a monthly - if I'm on hols for 3 days after publication?

Have lost one of my clients that made up half of my income!
There's a local magazine that has a high circulation (well the only local thing I think). It's usually delivered on the last day of the month. But I'm in Spain till Sat 4th Oct.
Don't really want to wait till end of Oct's mag - but is it dangerous to change my home phone number to say we're on hols! (Don't have a business line).

Can you access your answerphone messages from Spain? In that case just leave your normal message saying that you'll get back to them as soon as possible and check your messages from Spain as often as possible so you don't miss anything important.

I understand you wariness of putting on an ansaphone message which says "I'm not here, please burgle me" !
Just leave a business-like 'we are too busy ATM to take your call' message and explain the reasons for the delay when you call back.

If you think that it will be useful, definitely advertise now rather than wait another month.

I was going to put both - you know how people are a bit suss if it's just a mobile number and not a landline number.
Do you think if people get an answering machine on a land line - they'll phone the mobile?
