Hi everyone. I’m feeling a bit lost about where to go with my career.
I want to go into administration-type work, ideally in a back office setting, and I always envisioned myself working in science or healthcare but I’m open to anywhere at this point. I want the sort of work where I go in, do the job, leave it there and come home. I don’t mind working with people but I’m not keen on being on the front lines.
I have a BA in neuroscience 😅 I did some work in lab research but I didn’t enjoy how open-ended it was. I want to switch paths entirely from science to something goal-focused but similarly not too social.
The closest matches I’ve found are medical secretary or ward clerk, however I’ve read these are pretty full-on in the people front so I’ve been put off.
I’m a newly single mum of a 3 year old with additional support needs. To be honest I’m struggling at the moment, I need to sort myself out but I’m at a low point in my life, I’m about to start antidepressants as I feel very overwhelmed and down. I don’t want to take on a high-demand cerebral job when I’m barely keeping my head afloat every day. So if anyone has recommendations as to what sort of jobs fit the bill that would be great. Thanks so much
