Hello everyone, god this site is so theraputic. Well I need to sound off over a few things. Firstly the house is always a tip since going from four days to five working. My other half is great but I LOATHE spending quality weekends cleaning. Job is good except school is in bad area and kids have say "lots of issues". As part of my job I do lunch time duty and I feel like a prison warden due to their behaviour. Lastly we have new neighbours (I live in an end of terrace). In the past I have had hugs problems with selfish neighbours and must admit to being a trolley case over noise now. We had a reprieve with lovely ones for a year.....pure bliss! This new lot were oving in until 3 in the morning and i had to go round as i could not sleep and felt physically sick. They were really good about it and I hope that this good relationship continues. Ok so i have read this back and i am losing it aren't I?? HELP

Thank you so much inthegutter!! You have really helped. The nervous feelings about neighbours will take some time to go as the wound is deep and long standing but so far so good. What do you do about front doors being slammed? How do you handle asking them not to slam?? tough one as how would I feel?

Hi Megan, and glad you've discovered MN! Yes, it's mostly therapeutic, though we do have our moments sometimes!!
First, you are def NOT losing it! You sound lovely and normal to me! You mention you're a TA. I'm a teacher and you're the people who keep us going! Your role is incredibly valuable, and clearly you work in a tough school so I take my hat off to you. Don't worry about your house being a tip - mine is too!!
Lastly about the neighbours. There's nothing like having a bad experience to make you paranoid - we've been there too, thankfully all in the past now. It gets into your head and you can't think of anything else, so it's only natural that you'd have panicked in the night. Sounds like they got carried away with moving in, maybe wanting to just keep going and get unpacked while they were on a roll, and didnt realise the time! But if they responded nicely, it sounds like they're reasonable people.
