When I first started working at my current job the redundancy terms were a month for every year. A few years ago they changed their policy terms of redundancy so it is now statutory (a week for every year). They are now discussing "voluntary" redundancies and potentially enforced redundancies to follow. Are redundancy terms part of a contract? Can they change the terms without me signing a new contract?
I'm struggling to find my original contract (which doesn't help). Can they change these terms for existing staff or only staff appointment after the date of the change? Does anyone know what the law is in relation to this?
