I've had ENOUGH! How much do cleaners cost??

Hello
Had enough of doing all the bloody housework and working 3 days a week. Can't get dh to change, it's threatening our relationship. So... how much do cleaners cost [Berkshire] , and what's the best way to get one??

AND - why is it, if I drop just one of the many balls I am juggling, I am a bad mother, whereas if dh does even a TINY amount of housework, he is a fabulous new man and wonderful father???????

Get DH to pay half.
Ask for recommendations on local Facebook group.

Hello! I’m desperate for cleaners to come in twice a week and help me out. Am a single mom with epilepsy and get really tired. Can afford from 8-10 pounds an hour. Any leads? Thanks Moms 🙏

I am disgusted with some of the attitudes of people on here. Us cleaners are not slaves to the highest bidders you know.
Honestly would any of you expect to work for less than minimum wage, and as for the cleaners don't encourage people to treat you like this.
I charge £12 an hour for cleaning and that's because I have to pay tax, petrol, business costs, insurance and live as well. Do you see the point?
Being a cleaner is a very tough physical job and most people that become cleaners didn't have the chance to go to University or do well in life. At least have the respect to pay your cleaners a fair wage and the cleaners need to demand to be paid a fair wage also, so people don't think it's OK to treat them like slaves.

I live in Barnet, London and I previously paid an Agency £15 per hour but I had things go missing and when I had a good cleaner they would disappear. I ended up using someone local to the area and used by a few other neighbours and I pay her £15ph. I trust her enough, like other neighbours, to have keys to my home.

If you need a cleaner try Homeclean Somerset and Bristol.
They are a really good cleaning agency and
you pay the cleaner direct £8ph so you know exactly what they get.

Zombie thread! I was wondering how on earth people could justify paying less than NMW Grin

I live somewhere very inexpensive and we're talking £10-15/hr cleaning these days.

Timetoask - I would love to find a bookkeeper for £8.50, in Hampshire we have to pay at least £13 ph PAYE

Cleaning is hard work

To the lady charging £6.50 per hour, why are you charging yourself out at less than minimum wage?

I think you are looking at £10 - £12 per hour - if you can only afford £10 a week, then I don't think you will find anyone that only wants to do an hour, it wouldn't make sense for them, with travel time taken into account

What sort of things will you want the cleaners to do?

You work 3 days a week, what about the other 4 days? How many days a week does your OH work?

A bit late to the party, but for everyone else searching for cleaning prices and finding this link -> you can check a lot of nation average service prices at quotation check.

The thing for some reason they don't cover every domestic service there is. In that case, the trick I do is investigate some 20-30 companies I find through google. I check if they have cleaning price page and make myself a comparison sheet. Then I get a quote from the 3-5 companies with the best offers.

A good cleaner, one with whom you've had a long association is worth their weight in gold. I wouldn't dream of paying mine minimum wage so I pay roughly the living wage +30% and I give her paid holiday and a Christmas bonus too. I hate her to leave, she's been with us for 8 years.

Is your cleaner an illegal immigrant?
I cant believe you pay so little in London . I had a cleaner/ironer for 11 years and paid considerably more than that . Its sounds a bit like exploitation to me. Sorry ..
