Can’t out myself too much.

Lots of resource books about transgender listed.

One - only one Angry - book on female empowerment. None on male breaking down the sexist stereotypes apart from 3 (!!!!!) boy becomes girl books and now boy is happy because he can finally become himself.

I suspect that this is going to be a standard roll out in Irish primary schools (ages 4-12) and want to get my points across.

Help please with

  • additional books on female and males books breaking stereotypes and ultimate acceptance.
  • comments that I can give to the school.

They are bringing in concepts as transgender at 4-7 and not including anything about not having to confirm to what societal bonds there might be! Angry FFS

Busy Bodies is always recommended and very popular.

Back to the original subject, but this was posted on another thread and it's remarkably good. Very clear, unambiguous information and simply explains the development of the differently sexed bodies. No gender bs, just biology. Funded by the crisis pregnancy...maybe a beacon of hope? It's for pshe in 5th and 6th class.

Have they any links back to the ‘occupy xyz’ movement? I remember there being a muffled/silenced hooha after all that died down where women were assaulted in their cozy-wozy little tent commune. Didn’t the same happen in the XR camp at Marble Arch?

‘Misgender’ someone and the walls of Jericho fall, rape a woman and shhhhhhhhhh.

XX I've had a look at the PFG, and the Greens manifesto previously.

There's no shelter for natal female's rights ( censored my language there Hmm) to single sex places anywhere in the Irish Govt's manifesto.

I have to say that again.

There is no protection for women's single sex space rights in this country any longer.

Straightforward revocation purpose

3rd party support was non medical. They suggest it’s an advocat from TENI or the likes.

So no reason that any child should be supported from a mental health or even an understanding of what might blockers and hormones might do. Donal OShea has seen the damage coming from Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital Gender Clinic into his clinic when they turn adults and called for the immediate cessation of the Crumlin clinic.

Guess who runs the Crumlin children’s hospital clinic ...
Tavistock.

The first recommendation suggests that a system of gender recognition should be introduced for children of any age, subject to the following key principles:

Parental consent

The report recommends that parental consent should be provided for those applying for a gender recognition certificate under the age of 18. The report also recommended that a legal process be put in place for cases where there is not consent from both parents or it is not possible or safe to get consent.

Creating an administrative process

The report recommends that the process should be administrative, meaning that seeking gender recognition would be via application to the Department of Social Protection, not through the court system (unless parental consent could not be obtained) and there would be no requirement for reports form medical experts, or diagnosis of any kind for individuals to change their legal gender.

Straightforward revocation process

A simple process should be in place in case a young person changed their mind to allow them to return to their original gender.

Third party support for the child and family involved

The report does not specify exactly what sort of third party support should be provided to a young person or their family. Instead it leaves this to the Minister to decide. The review group were clear that this role should be a supportive one, not a veto and have nothing to do with a medical process.

I too am appalled at the PFG. Did anyone read the recommendations for children who want to transition? It was in the review of the GRA. I’ll go off and find it...

@transrightsarehumanrights

How ignorant and blind of you to mention stonewall
Trans women and other LGBT + have been Murdered from protesting for BASIC human rights
You have nothing to worry about your child learning about trans related topics in school. My sex Ed was terrible and only covered small basics leaving most people with more questions than answers. Lgbt topics weren’t talked about once.
The beginning hasn’t begun, trans people are fighting for our rights and we won’t stop until discrimination ends
Trans women are women and will continue to use the bathroom if they please
Learn to love and accept all

I don’t kind a hijack but I don’t think anyone mentioned stonewall?

Call women ‘cis’ and it shows you don’t care about human rights (or more correctly women’s rights).

And those stats - 61% sex workers (a high risk occupation). The highest number in that report is Brazil a where 4 women are murdered every day of the year. Even UN Women estimated 87,000 women murdered worldwide in 2018 - and that probably doesn’t count baby girls aborted or killed soon after birth.

Every death is a tragedy. But check the sources.

Women are murdered and abused every day for being women. Sucks doesn’t it? And we can’t just change our clothes and pretend we aren’t women, because we are female bodied. Same for trans men. Being victimized by men is one of the few things we have in common with trans people and it’s not enough for me to want my daughters undressing in the same room as male bodied people.

..... Women can go out in public without being screamed slurs at and threatenened

What planet are you living on? Women are constantly verbally abused and threatened in the streets. Tell me where this mythical Utopia is and we'll all go there.

Hopefully not teaandtoast

Those proposals need to be parsed out in my mind anyway.

Some of it will probably be fine, and helpful to trans people, so obviously I'd have no issues with those bits.
Other bits might have implications that are troublesome

One can only hope that the tide is starting to turn in the UK and will have a knock on effect in Ireland. But I feel it might be too lateAngry

This is from the Program for Government.
As an aside, I didn't realise that our equality legislation does not have sex as one of the grounds, since 2015 it is gender.

LGBTi+We will:
Amend the gender ground in equality legislation to ensure that someone discriminated against on the basis of their gender identity is able to avail of this legislation.

Gender RecognitionWe will:
•Remove the need for a person aged 16 and 17 years to have two specialist reports before they can apply for legal gender recognition, by providing for self-declaration, with parental consent and by making mediation available on a voluntary basis. These improvements will include the provision of a gender recognition certificate providing proof of change of name as well as gender.Make any necessary changes to the law to allow legal name change be part of the gender recognition process.
•Commence research to examine arrangements for under children under 16.
•Complete the work of the interdepartmental group tasked with examining legal recognition of non-binary people.
•Ensure Government Departments and public bodies take positive steps, including the use of correct pronouns and where possible making improvements on official forms, to assist non-binary people.

Roderick O'Gorman (green) is new minister for children and youth affairs.
I think I'll write him a letter asking him to examine the issue very closely before he makes his decision.

And another GP member is new minister for Arts Media and Communications ( or similar). I will ask her to commit on free speech issues.

Eamonn Ryan is minister for Climate Action, Energy and Transport. I would expect he will have his hands full, what with Covid recession, Brexit recession and the whole Ten Years countdown thing. I would certainly hope he concentrates on those important issues, and doesnt het sidetracked.
