If you need some light but very incisive commentary on what is wrong with identity politics:

I quite like saying it to them just to annoy them. If you do it in a particular way, it makes them apoplectic. Because it really is a very arrogant thing to say.

It's an easy way to be self righteous and sneery without the bother of having to put up a coherent reasoned argument.

Crying with laughter at the first comment from an identity politics automaton. "Educate yoursellf" is one of the most tired and illogical phrases of the movement.

But everyone else does, right?

Of course, or there wouldn't be any special left for Saffy.

The marginalised genders officer at Newcastle University

Marginalised genders officer? At an actual university?

Shock

I feel old. How can this nonsense go unchallenged in universities of all places?

Well, yes, I fit right into the gender binary. I am all about the pink cupcakes (obviously not those nasty TERFY vulva ones). And the glittery nail varnish. And my hair is not greeny-blue so I cannot be non-binary. (Surreptitiously shoves physics books, manly thrillers and football boots behind the sofa with a toe whilst twiddling hair.)

Speaking of snowflakes:

"Born a girl, Saffy grew up a tomboy before realising aged 19 that they were neither male or female.

The marginalised genders officer at Newcastle University then came to recognise themselves with the gender identity of non-binary.

Saffy said: “Non-binary to me means essentially I don’t feel I fit with the binary of man and woman. I’m making a distinction between my sexual organs and my gender identities."

“It is society which has placed these expectations of femininity and masculinity. I just don’t feel like I fit in to that rigid binary and I think there’s more than two genders.”

It is interesting that Nightmare's only other contribution to FWR was to go onto a thread about male violence against women and stick in the obligatory "women are sometimes violent too" comment. Clearly an adherent to the Everyday Misogyny school of feminism: "My feminism will centre men or it will be nothing." Someone needs educating, but I'm not sure it's us.

Telling people to educate themselves is probably not a good idea. It was after being told to educate myself that I looked further into it all and turned 'TERF' where before that I was a good little ally that questioned nothing about it all. The more people find out about identity politics, the more most find it a load of crap.

There are so many groups, who like the Jesuits of old, feel they can change the world by instilling their beliefs into young children, away from their parents.

Yes! They are exactly like that. Give me a child until 7 and I'll show you the man etc etc.

I too find it sinister as mentioned on another thread that they openly state they want to get at children "before they are influenced by the prejudices of the adults around them" i.e. their parents. It's such a bloody cult. The gov needs to be called to account for letting them have all this access to children.

Yes I like that one - you could put the Rumplestiltskin one on face book, but you would still have to provide a table for translation of terms used.

When my eldest started school, there was a booklet that a group brought out. They wanted all children to receive it. It was very well meaning. It was supposed to tell very young children what would happen if their parents split up and reassure them.

Unfortunately, they did not realise (or chose not to realise as it did not fit their agenda) that this was really disturbing for small children whose parents were not splitting up and who were too young to have ever contemplated it as a possibility. It was completely undermining to their view of what was safe in the world.

Some schools decided to have the leaflet and keep it in the office for any families that felt they might need it.

These 'education resources' remind me so much of that. There are so many groups, who like the Jesuits of old, feel they can change the world by instilling their beliefs into young children, away from their parents.

It is using child friendly material (cartoons, sweets, puppies) to bring down barriers with children, so that they are more receptive to what you want to tell them.

The GIRES education information uses cartoon penguins. The 3-6 year old info even says Understanding gender diversity starts here, at primary school level, before children’s views become influenced by the prejudices of the adults around them. In law, gender diversity is as important as race and ethnicity diversity

This is what inspired the Snowflake Books.

These are brilliant. I've not finished looking at it but I hope there's a "I'm non binary and like both girl and boy things. I like to think I'm special though feminists tell me this is normal and everything they've been fighting for for hundreds of years" book.
