Natalie Cassidy get beaten up by DF but Daily Fail makes no mention of domestic violence

Even for the DM I'm shocked at the tone of this article. He's been charged with 2 counts of beating her and from the sound of it he's still in custody so it must have been quite bad. But they are making it out to be 'an arguement which 'got physical''.

Poor poor Natalie. I really hope she doesn't take him back.

Not one to defend that paper but it was her spokesman who put it like that

The article itself doesn't bother me in that sense because I did take away from it the fact that it was a serious assault

the photos bothered me more - they look like a real intrusion. Not her biggest fan but no one deserves to be in her position and the press should just leave her alone.

I too hope she doesn't let him back

That's terrible reporting and a horrible situation. He attacked her and destroyed their home - that's not an arguement. Dh and I argue - nothing and nobody gets broken! They have a little baby too. for her. I hope it's the lighting of those pictures but doesn't it look like she has at least one black eye? I really hope she doesn't take him back too.

Shame on them. For the tone of the article and for buying the pictures. The DM really hate NC. She doesn't see it, though, because I get the impression that she courted them a lot in the past.

The DM do hate Natalie Cassidy.

They hate her because she's just not pretty enough.

They like her more when she loses weight (though they enjoy it more when she puts it back on and also when then they can expose her weight loss as laxative abuse and bulima) and they loved it when she had her breast augmentation a few years back.

It's horrible, because as you say, Aye Robot, Cassidy has courted the DM and similar for years. She appears to really want the kind of status that Kelly Brook or Denise Van Outen have. But she is tolerated and gently patronised (Oh well done Natalie! You've worked hard to make the best of what you've got!) at best.

Poor Natalie - if only she were prettier. It's her nose that's the problem - maybe she should have rhinoplasty? And that wide forehead...would botox do it? Perhaps a better hairstyle would disguise it somehow?

I actually prefer it when the DM are foul about Cassidy; at least it's honest.

I can't see her getting much support from the DM for the attack her fiancé made on her. I suspect that it's seen as natural justice for getting ideas above her station. A plain girl like Nat Cass was punching above her weight with a 'bikini body', a 'hot' boyfriend and a flourishing career with her own tv show and magazine column. The DM are much more comfortable with her being downtrodden and dowdy. After all, everyone knows that it's the prettiest who gets the prizes - what on earth did she think she was doing flouting herself in the papers like that, acting like she was deserving?

Compare her treatment with that of Rhianna, when Chris Brown attacked her. The difference is, Rhianna didn't deserve it because she is pretty.

Well, no, ilovesprouts. It's a completely fucked up position to take. But nevertheless, that is the DM's position.

A reasonable position is that no woman deserves to be hit. Full stop.

I'm fairly sure that we're not making the DM our first port of call for positions of reasonableness though.

It is a disgusting downplaying of a violent man.

I also dislike the sneery way they excuse her failing as a mother by reaching for a ciggerette.

For thr police to charge him with two seperate counts of beating then that was more than a push and shove of an argument turned physical.

All i hope is that Nathalie gets the help and support she needs to be strong through this and make the best decisions for her and her child.

Why does her having a cigarette make her a failure as a mother???
I don't like her, never have and her show on C4 was awful.
Is it just me or do those balcony pictures look a bit staged? Surely she must have known she would be photographed out there?

I have been a victim of DV very recently and I have been shocked as to how people react to it. In comparison to the reality of how 'victims' are treated in the RW, I thought the DM article was remarkable sympathetic.

"failure as a mother" was the tine the piece gave. that she should be excused to odd fag because her life was so shit because her boyrfiend was in custody.

I have no feelings towards the woman one way or another, i don't think you need to "like" her in order to recognise that she has been the victim of a violent crime and Daily hate has glossed over that. You will notice that "poor old natalie" is the focus of the article not "violent fiancé in custody for beating up sleb"

If i didn't know better i'd assume the article was written by that MEP from the other day

Calm down Daisy and read my post again!
When did I say that being beaten up by her fiance is not so bad?
Of course it is bad - nobody deserves that.
I was just saying I don't like the woman, and that her 'posing' on her balcony having a fag seems to me like attention seeking seeing as there are likely to be photographers everywhere considering her fiance has just been arrested!
Also, if a Mum goes outside for a fag while her baby is having a nap it doesn't make her a failure as a mother, but thats a whole other subject.

You prioritise her 'attention seeking' behaviour and the fact that some tv show makes you think that you dislike her (why on earth do you dislike her? do you know her?) over the fact that she has been beaten by her fiancé.

It doesn't matter whether the pictures wre posed or whether she appears to be a likeable person or not - how is any of that relevent at all?

And, actually, why shouldn't we see the results of a man beating her? Ought she to hide inside 'til the bruises fade? Is it Cassidy's responsibility to protect the violent man who attacked her and prtect us for being forced to witness the result of male violence?

Or is it that you object to the idea that Cassidy is 'asking for sympathy' by (possibly) staging the photographs? Again, I see no problem with that; I feel hugely sympathetic - the woman has just been beaten.

This thread is the reason I am starting to really go off MN.
So because she's been beaten up we can't now say a bad word against her?
I don't like her for the same reason I don't like Katie Price or Kerry Katona or any of these so called 'celebs', its got nothing to do with her being beaten up. Her programme on C4 was pure drivel - anyone would think she was the only woman in the world to ever give birth, millions of women do it every day FFS. Just because I think this doesn't mean I think she deserved to be beaten up FFS.
I never said she should hide away till the bruises fade did I? I just think she is playing for the cameras like she always does.
Not that it makes much difference but I have been a victim of DV (not to the terrible extent that some on here have admittedly) and I would never condone it or gloss over it.

Agreed that her programme is a pile of shite but the acting offers aren't exactly flooding in and she got offered a load of cash to do it. I can't say I blame her. Besides, it isn't these z listers who are commissioning the programmes - you have to look far higher up the media food chain.

I don't think she was playing for the cameras - she does actually look like she was just having a quiet fag on the balcony. The paps could have been a mile away to get that shot.
