Warning, TMI, pic. Am I normal down there?

Hi,

Apologies in advance for the photo. I am panicking about this area just above my vaginal opening. It's symmetrical, but I'm just not sure what it is, or if it's normal. GP said normal. I trust them, I would just love to know what it is.

Warning, TMI, pic. Am I normal down there?

Think I'd probably get that photo deleted if I were you.

Sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was hoping for some advice but yes please delete if it's not appropriate here.

There's a TMI warning.

We're all women and mothers. What's so shocking about a vagina? We all have one.
Do you mean below? The ridged bit?

All vulvas are different, if the GP says there's nothing concerning about it then I wouldn't worry.

Don't compare yourself to vulvas you see in porn etc..

There wasn't a tmi before but the doctor has said you're fine, so no real need to post a photo here is there.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate the reply. Yes, the ridged bit but also the bit above it. It might be how I've always looked down there, I've never checked. I was worried it might be something sinister but was of course reassured by GP.

There absolutely was because I wrote that myself in the original subject line

Since when was this website exclusive to women and mothers? I can understand pp comment’s because this is the internet which anyone can access.

I usually avoid these threads so no clue why I clicked on this one. You’ve been seen by the GP and they’ve said everything is fine. I think it’s best to trust someone who’s medically trained than randoms on the internet

Well considering it's called MUMSnet you'd expect most users to be women and to not be squeamish about women's bodies.

And if a bloke clicks on it I'm sure they won't have a heart attack.

If you don't want to see anything 'TMI' don't click on a thread that says 'TMI PIC'

Simple.

Why on earth have you posted a pic of your vagina on here. You know there are men on here don’t you.

Not trying to get into an argument about why I posted a pic, I posted one as I know (usually) this is a safe space to ask for help. I put a warning on it.

I doubt she's easily identified.

Yes, perfectly normal. It's your vaginal wall and rugae.

Well she can and she did.

She's asking for support, not condemnation.

I'm sure if she was doing it for other reasons she would find a better site than this. If you don't like it, hide the thread.

Can't believe the outrage, all sorts of weird and wonderful things get posted on here. Perfectly normal fanny and everyone is up in arms 🙄

If you're feeling worried could you have a chat at your sexual health clinic. I find they're a lot better at this sort of thing than the GP.

Ahhh this is horrible 😞 I have terrible health anxiety and I was reaching out for support, I have seen many other pictures like this on here and I posted a warning to ensure no one clicked but accident.

It’s more symmetrical than mine after two kids. Looks fine to me. I don’t get the obsession with how vaginas look tbh. As long as they’re not causing you discomfort, there’s no need to fret

Please don't worry about people being negative.

You're totally normal, in terms of your vulva and looking for support on a mums website. Some people will always be negative.

Please don't feel bad.
