Please.
Read loads of great books recently but I want one that is going to lighten my heart rather than weigh me down emotionally.
No chick lit or the like though please!

Lots of replies thanks!

So, I've remembered a few old favourites now ....Janet Evanovich (shit, she's written stacks!) and Carl Hiassen (I'd completely forgotten about both of them and I really enjoyed their books)

I've read The Rosie Project but not the sequel. And I've read and loved the Tractor one and the man climbing out the window.

Quite keen on the Nina Stibbe ones now I've googled them ...

Marking thread, but I have two comments to add aswell!

Avoid Agatha Raisin if 1. You want a decent read and 2. Want something funny, unless you want to laugh wondering what on earth you are reading and who would write/buy such crap, but that's mo!

Apparently The Humans is a good read and funny, haven't started it yet and can't remember who it is by,but it's on my list.

John O'Farrell? he's not published anything new for a while, they always made me laugh.

How about Marian Keyes? You might class it is chick lit, but I find them very funny and well written
