Question about Sophie Hannah's Little Face

Just started reading Little Face and one of the main characters is called Alice Fancourt, who I'm sure featured in one of her other books, Hurting Distance.

Who was she in Hurting Distance? I only read it a few weeks ago

Think maybe Alice Fancourt was one of the police officers' ex-girlfriends?
