Anyone else taking alli?

Have been on alli for a week and just wondering if anyone else was going to give it a try.

It has definitely improved my discipline around snacking and how I prepare meals - and so far I haven't had any side effects. 2lbs lost, but a long, long way to go...

Hurrah, lulu41 - I thought I might be the only MNer to try it - we'll be smelly together !

Day 9 on this stuff, and I've lost 5lbs. Not having looked down the loo to admire my production since toddlerhood, I find myself strangely drawn - for which I blame Dior, but have so far resisted.

Dior - I am glad you haven't had the full details on your neighbour, although I did have in mind that you could hear him in the loo crying as he says "Not the Brie, please God, not the Brie!" .

Fear is the only discipline. Will have to teach dd this at some point .

I have been taking them for 3 weeks combined with (sort of) Weightwatchers. I've lost about 2lb per week which is my goal. Although I can tell the difference in my pooh, I haven't had any nasty accidents!! I guess it's because I'm generally eating low fat. I even had a Chinese at home last week and had no problems.

Littledawley - hurrah! Now I have someone else to talk to about my own poo and not just my baby's! Congrats on hitting your target.

Would be interested in low-fat Chinese food - I have had salmon teriyaki for my Oriental fix so far, baked not fried. Do you have a recipe?

For salmon teriyaki, you just marinate salmon fillet pieces and some slices of onion in soy sauce, rice wine/sherry with crushed garlic, ginger, chillies and a tiny bit of sesame oil for about 10 minutes and then bake for 25 mins at 180 (fan), baste at 10 mins. There should be enough marinade to coat the salmon and about a tablespoon's worth extra in the pan. Nice with sesame seeds on top. It works out at 300 calories per medium salmon fillet. Have to do it with rice, though as I can eat noodles for Britain.

I wasn't being that virtuous Cara!! I meant that I had Chinese takeaway with a side of Alli and didn't have any nasty accidents

I know that I'm not being as 'good' as I should be with WW but seem to be gradually losing the weight.

How much do you have to lose? I would like to drop 2 stone. I managed it two years ago after dd was born, then I had an unplanned pregancy so am back to square 1!!! I was exercising then though so I really need to start that up again. Keep telling myself that I've just had a baby but she's nearly 9 weeks already!!

I'm also on 'Alli' and have been so for 6 days with no side effects at all-also no weight loss! But was 'due on' last week so guess its on way! Sorry tmi!
Hopefully i will drop a bit combined with my exercise/healthy eating.
My baby is 8.5mths now and i have lost over 2.5stone since October by being very serious about it but now using 'alli' to give it a kick start as staring to get stuck.

Has anyone else got a sore bottom???

Apologies - have been away for a couple of days.

Littledawley - it's a real boost to know that you don't have to be completely rigid about the diet - cheers - I'm going to have Chinese on Friday!

Sore bums not experienced here - except for hot curries - and I haven't had a curry in a while. Will keep you posted on the state of bot. However, those "ladyfresh" wipes have been helpful in the past.

Congratulations on the little one! But, blimey, I couldn't have contemplated dieting at 9 weeks. Guess it really is easier the second time around.

kKey21 - Congratulations on 2.5 stone - am very ! and on the baby - 8/9 months is the best time, isn't it? all that personality but they can't yet move!
I think that's what alli is - a really good kick-start, but more for those with no willpower rather than highly trained careful eaters such as yourself! Let us know how you do - it would be good to compare whether it is the alli that is working or just the good eating.

It seems that the diet plan of having low fat but normal snacks and so on is really helpful - I don't like "made-for-suckers" diet bars and the like, but the constant grazing is very helpful and makes it seem less of a diet. Having breakfast has had the odd effect of making me hungrier throughout the morning than I ever have been on my previous breakfast of two coffees, though .

HaHa Cara!! She's my third and I'm a basket case I think focusing on dieting is my bizzare (and probably unhealthy) way of getting through this!!

3 girls - woo-hoo! It's what dh wants - he says Alpha Males have daughters - this is all based on a letter he read in paper about how all those flying aces in WW2 had only daughters ! Good luck - remember the mantra - this too will pass!

But it's the motivation for me to stop being a porker and lose the weight - would love to have another baby, but I have PCOS, and basically if I lose the weight, it will improve my chances, as the hormone levels etc. are fine.

Can't get pregnant while on alli though - it's weird going back to condoms after trying for a baby for so long...probably TMI.

DD was unexpected - never particularly wanted children, and now want as many as I can pop out before the clock stops...Mother Nature can be so evil.
