I'm interested to compare really. I'm not huge at 9.5st but would be happier at 9st.

Anyone else around that weight trying to lose half a stone?

I hear you DiddleyDokey. My primary aim was to get myself down to a healthy BMI, which for my height is anything between about 51.1 and 69.2kg. I weighed myself last week and was delighted to find myself at 70.5kg; I entered this on the BMI site to see how far off I was and received the stern message of:

You are OVERWEIGHT. A loss of 10kg would put you in the middle of the Healthy range.

So now I'm considering just seeing how low I can get before collapsing Confused I have never weighed less than 66kg (10st 5.5lb) as an adult so that would be interesting to see (if probably unsustainable).

I'm a shade under 5'6 and currently weigh 10st 9lbs. I was 11st 2lbs until a few months ago when I started on MFP.
I have a very athletic build - wide shoulders and muscly legs - and I'm aiming for around 10st 2lbs as I know that under 10st I tend to look a bit gaunt. I'm a 12 on the bottom and 10 on the top. So interesting how widely the 'norm' varies.

I'm a fatty on this thread. I'm 11st 9lbs and usually a 12. I'm very much an hourglass though - I think those that are lighter but wear bigger clothes have a bigger waist measurement. My fat is just evenly distributed.

Ideally I'd be between 9.5 - 10 stone but I like wine and chocolate too much for that. I'm very slowly losing a few pounds and am aiming for anywhere in the 10s to be healthy on the BMI scale.

10st dead on. I've lost 6lb recently after having DS. I felt awful at 10.6

I'd like to be 8.5 but would be happy with 9st

Weight used to drop off in my 20s when I hovered around 8st but now after 2kids it's a real struggle to lose any. I think it's going to take at least 6months to get back to 9st!

5'5 - 9 stone 7 and a spot on size 10 in most shops. Ideally would like to get to 9 stone. Last time I got to 8'12, I was an easy size 8.

Wiggly - I also find weight comes off my boobs first, so annoying! I really just want to lose some around my midsection (and maybe a bit off thighs), but my body has other ideas.

I am confused re: wrist size/frame size thing mentioned above. I have really tiny wrists (fingers overlap when wrapped round, by a lot), but definitely not a tiny frame overall. Broad shoulders, large rib cage, wide hips and size seven feet.

Hmm, I am between 5'6" and 5'7", 48, just been low carbing as I had crept up to 10 St 5 lbs, most on armsand round middle, was having to buy new size 12 jeans and knickers. I now 9 11 and easily fit size 10. Feel much better but boobs have shrunk and neck starting to look scrawny. I was worried about visceral fat. I always used to be 9 8 and looked slim bit not skinny, I have broad shoulders, big hands and feet etc. Will never look willowy!

I'm 5 foot 6 and 8.8 stone, if I go above 9 stone I feel overweight (not in anyway saying that is overweight though) DH says I looked better post partum though when I was about 9 stone 8 for a while, I just can't stand being any heavier though!

I'm 5ft 7 and hover between 9st and 9st 2lb.

I was 10st 7lb last year, but lost weight by running and overhauling my diet. I think 9st is where I'm happiest. My weight did dip down to 8st 11lb, but a few people thought I looked haggard (which I did)

That's interesting FrenchFancy - never heard of that before but just googled it and my fingers overlap which makes me small framed. Might explain why I am happier at a lower weight.

Report
frenchfancy · 23/05/2016 20:59

I vary between 10st 5 and 10 st 9 size 10-12 with big boobs and muscular (riding) leg. I have dipped down to 10st 2 but people ask me if I'm ill.

Frame size has a lot to do with it. I can't close my finger and thumb round my wrist so that makes me large framed.

9stone too heavy? I look skeletal if I go under 11.5 stone and I'm just under 5'6"

5'7 and currently 9st 6, which feels too big to me, altho am still size 8-10 depending on the shop. Ideal weight wd be 8st 12, although was under 8st in my 20s, due to walking everywhere and buying more wine than food... Now 45, two dcs later, sedentary job and commuting by car I seem to carrying a permanent extra half stone.

9st 3lb. Would quite like to be 9 stone but not sure it will happen. I seem to be losing inches rather than weight now which works for me.

Am 46 with 5 children so my tummy is a bit of a state but I'm working on it. And I have amazing legs :)

8st 13. Prefer to be around 8st 7 - 10. just as I find if I go over 9 stone my weight wants to shoot up again very easily. I was 10st 5 a few years ago and lost 2 stone but 8st 5 wasn't quite sustainable.

I usually weigh somewhere between 9 and 9 1/2 stone, and I'm happy with that.

When I was in my twenties I weighed 8 1/2 but I just look too skinny if I weigh that now.

I do a lot of running so am quite small framed and probably weigh more than what I look. I'm a size 8.

Benidickcyminsnatch I know what you mean! I'm easily one of the heaviest on the thread but quite comfortably wear a size 12. I'm toned and fairly trim, my only "problem" area is my stomach now because of diastasis recti. I can go from a flat tum to looking 6 months pregnant by the end of the day! And it adds a couple of inches to my waist :(
Muscle really does make a difference. If I were 10 stone I'd be a size 8 easy!

I look best around 9st 9. Much less or more and it all goes a bit wrong. Wish I was 9st 9 at the minute!

Oops forgot dress size. I'm an 18 on top and usually a 16 on the bottom.

At 11 stone I was a size 14.

Cannot even begin to imagine being 9 stone! I'm sure I would look rather ill.

I'm 5'6 and I weigh 14st 5lbs.

Last year I went on an elimination diet to sort out my gastro problems and after cutting out gluten and dairy, dropped to 11stone. I looked just right at this weight, if a little underweight. I have long legs so I tend to look a bit - gangly, lol!
Then I started HRT to try to control my mood and ended up at this weight. It's almost like a different sort of fat too, almost permament water retention?! Anyway I've come back off the HRT and will use natural methods instead for any menopausal symptoms as being this heavy makes my unhappy. I'm expecting it to come off gradually but if I need to kickstart the loss a little I will go back onto a low carb diet.
I think I'd like to be around 11.5 - I look trim but still curvy at that weight.

Oh bum I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread... I am fit and working with a personal trainer, I'm just really fucking heavy. I know the number shouldn't bother me, but it bloody does! People on this thread saying they weigh less than me but wear a bigger size... There is just no rhyme or reason! Oh well at least I feel good about myself in general :)
