Hi Ladies, I'm new here on the board but have been reading for a while now..

To make a long story short I'm going through a really hard time right now, dealing with separation.. 7-yr relationship and a 4-yr daughter. We moved to London last year from abroad so my social network isn't very large, to say the least. (n.b: I do love London though and planning to stay.) This is just a bit of background info to help you understand.

The reason I'm actually on the board is because I'm starting a diet. I'm unhappy with my looks and none of my clothes fit me, and my budget definitely doesn't allow for a wardrobe overhaul. So I'll use this thread as a diet diary and hope to get some encouragement and perhaps advice from you.

I've chosen the Dukan diet mydukandiet.com/dieting/. I'm at 69kg now and would like to get to 59kg, which is my pre-pregnancy weight (sorry can't get my head around stones and pounds yet). I actually dropped close to 60 kg when breastfeeding but have gained way too much weight since.

This is the plan:
5-day Attack phase starting tomorrow. (I've actually started 'light' today, just to prepare my body for it, so not eating pasta and breads and sugars today)
Cruise phase - the online Dukan calculator says that by the 9th of November I should get to 59kg, so I should lost 10kg in just a but over 2 months.
Consolidation - that's supposed to last 100days or so, after Cruise.

Thanks for having the patience to read so far. Hoping to hear from you along the way and if anyone wants to join in and diet, I'd be thrilled :)

Hello all.......survived half term at the in laws where diet comprises of cake, cake and bread with the odd biscuit to top up carb levels!!!!! Folks over 75 can't do Dukan !!!!!

Update from me. Dropped under 60kilos this week, more precisely 59.4kg. According to M. Dukan, my true weight would be 59kg. However, I'm going to keep dieting until I get to 58kg. The past 2-3 weeks the weight loss was very slow so it might take me another two weeks to get there, but I'm up for it.

Good luck everyone who's still at it! I'll report back from time to time, as I'd like to do the consolidation phase as well.

Next: TK maxx long overdue visit. I'm on a budget :)

Hi I lost 2 stones on Dukan last year. Have yo yoed a bit but am within 9lb o my true weight.
Started 3 days attack on Sunday and have lost 5 lb already!
Am keen to be on track by December 1st ready for party season so am planning a 6 lb weight loss which will take me 2 Or 3 weeks as I now do PV days every day as its more manageable. I worry about long term lack of salad and veg as I have been dukaning for a long time. It's slower but healthy!
Dukan rocks and is fab for the time it takes to shift your weight. Some great idea and inspiration on here to get my head round it again!

@tulipface: the thread seems to be less active now, but I was lurking as well. Welcome!

Update from me: last Fri I was 60.6kg, a bit more than I was hoping for but I'm on track. I cheated a couple of times - mostly wine and chocolate - but also did 2PP days in a row to make up for it :D.

Looking forward to Fri weigh in day!

Hi can i join you all please. So much motivation on here. I am on day 5 of attack and will be doing it tomorrow too before starting cruise on Saturday. Have enjoyed it more than I thought. Cant believe how much i like the oat bran galette and how filling it is. Only like it with sweetener and lemon though!

I started on 8th Jan......and lost 18lb (target) by end April. I still do pp once a week but find it really hard which is odd since I started with 5 pp days and didn't find it hard then at all. I try to avoid carbs all together apart from a wrap for lunch and the occasional meal out. I drink wine ( my weakness on weekends) g and t if I want one mid week.
I have the oat bran galette most mornings for breakfast because I actually like them( with marmite and cottage cheese!!!) and they fill me up.
I go to the gym 3 times a week.
I have a square on Lindt 70-80% dark choc every evening!
Seems to be staying off but it's hard to be so disciplined.....but worth it .
Dukan is a brilliant diet IMO .

hello again, i'm back to my 1 pp/1 pv rhythm, no cheating at all.

I've also decided to do the weigh-in only once a week (Fridays), as opposed to every day, as I was going crazy with all the fluctuations up and down.

Recap:

I was just a bit over 68kg on September 1 when I started Attack. At the last weigh-in on 12 October I was at 61.3kg. My end of Cruise goal is 58kg, although my true weight seems to be 59kg.

I should be out of cruise by the end of the month but we shall see...

@Drywhiteplease: welcome! are you still doing PP days once a week? oat bran daily and some walking/activity, as suggested?

Hi DryWhitePlease

Well done on getting down to ideal weight I'm only into second week and have lost 9lbs but no movement of the last day on the scales so hopefully i can get it moving again.

How did you find the diet and how long did you do it for?

Just marking my place. I lurked a lot on the other, now defunct, thread. I've done it, reached ideal weight, but it's hard once you're let loose, added to the fact that my new work place is like the Bake Off HQ, cakes everywhere!
I need a thread to keep track....so will lurk here now if that's ok.

Well managed to get through the weekend but did ruin it by having some wine grrrr. back on it today an i'm now 9lbs down in 7 days so very happy just need to keep it going now.

Having a PV day today:

Breakfast: Oatbran Porridge Breakfast
Lunch: Tuna Salad just leaves and Tune in Brine
Tea: Homemade chicken tikka with salad

Lots of water and probably far too much tea
How is everyone else doing?

I think the volume has halved since day three as I'm really not hungry or any urge to "pick"

Day 5 and I'm 7lbs down, not sure if I want to move to PV and PP or stay on attack for another couple of days.

Don't be discourged as I think some weeks you lose little but change shape and other weeks you loose more. I look tired today though I never suffer from black under eyes but they are really dark today and feel drained.

Todays Menu:

Oat Bran Porridge (1 1/2 Tablespoons with Skimmed Milk)

2 x Packet of Wafer Thin Chicken from MS, just been picking at it through out the day

Steak but think I might have some mushrooms and salad tonight but might not give in...

@Stylelostinlabour welcome! If you don't say quantities there is no way to tell how much you're eating... and I believe quantity wasn't as important as what are you eating so you seem to be following the rules?

I'm not doing too well, I'm still over 61kg, in fact 61.3 at the weekly weigh-in as compared to 61.7 last Friday so only 1 lb lost for an entire week. Not cheating with non-allowed foods but I got tired of alternating days pp/pv so I've been doing mostly PP breakfasts and dinners and PV lunches. It's a bit discouraging as I haven't touched any bread/pasta/rice etc. and haven't had sweets at all. No fruit and no alcohol either since last week. Breakfast is usually only yoghurt and oat bran and a black coffee.

Obviously this is not working though, so I'm planning on going back to the normal 1PP/1PV rhythm that worked.

Well start of Day 3 and I'm now 5lbs down already so rather pleased that it's all working.

Not missing carbs at all but could really do with some veg.

Todays Food Diary:

Breakfast - Oat Bran Porridge with Skimmed Milk
Snack - Fat Free Yoghurt
Lunch - Chicken
Tea - Smoked Haddock and Poached Egg

And lots of water and cups of tea...

How is everyone else doing?

Hello
Have read the whole thread well done everyone so far - can I join? Started on Monday 8th so second day today and loving it although I think I ate too much yesterday what with chicken, ham and crab sticks followed by a massive steak and prawns for tea.

Today haven't felt so hungry had oat bran porridge for breakfast which was really nice and then Tuna, prawns and crab sticks for lunch and a 0% yoghurt for lunch.

Had some slices of chicken at tea to stop me picking at kids chilli and wraps and then will have a steak in a bit

I have a question am I eating too much? Have had 5 pints of water and some tea with semi skimmed milk as well.

@kdiddy welcome! eating veggies is not cheating, I was craving them after attack :-)

I believe I'm finally past the plateau after doing 2PP days in a row. I'm starting to see gradual loss again, fluctuating around 61 now, it would be wonderful to get to 60ish by Friday.

If all goes well and I get to 58kg by the end of October I'm starting Consolidation the first week in November. Taking some days off for halfterm so my first celebration meal might be on vacation, fingers crossed.

Cheat count past week: one episode involving two glasses of red wine and two small chocolates. And some blueberries last week, I mixed them in yoghurt. Blush

Hello everyone - just found this thread and it's perfect timing! Did 6 days of attack last week and lost 3 kg ... v pleased with that. I've tried Dukan a couple of years ago and was doing well, but lost my mojo partway through and then got pregnant!

Really enjoyed first pv day but felt like I was cheating - did anyone else have this?!

Great big tuna salad for lunch though - can't wait to eat something green!

Evening. I'm still on plan, but wish the weight would come off a little quicker Grin Been out for a meal tonight and stuck to steak and salad , even though everyone else had 3 courses - I feel a bit deflated now??

Glad to see how everyone else is feeling/getting on. Hello Mud
