Anyone know any good venues in Liverpool?

Am looking for a nice restaurant or somewhere in Liverpool for a wedding breakfast starting at about 3pm for about 30 people. At the moment, I am not bothered about cost, I am just losing the will to live with googling!

I would like somewhere a bit 'different' but really am not fussy. Even just a restaurant with a function room would be ok.

I just need some inspiration I think!

Hi Lizzie712, I am interested in having my wedding reception at 62 castle street, did your sister have a good experience of the service there? It is a bit of an unconventional place, but cheaper than other venues and still stunning to look at!! x

The Monroe on Duke Street is lovely, brilliant food. My sister got married in 62 Castle Street (used to be Trials!!) , fabulous!! in fact, if you look on the website at the weddings section, the pictures are from her day!

It's a great shout, I just hadn't realised you could book it for smaller parties.

Nice to hear something good about The Swan, too Smile

I went to The Swan and thought it was nice.
I agree that West Tower is expensive but the op said cost isn't a problem. They advertise wedding breakfasts on their website so assumed they do smaller functions Smile

Best We have friends who went to The Swan and have all had either negative or neutral reports of it - would be interested to hear positive ones!

West Tower used to be wonderful before it became pretty much exclusively weddings (we used to go for special meals) but as a wedding venue it is now so high in demand it is terrifyingly expensive. I'm not sure you'd get them to do just a meal for 30, from what I've heard it's full blown weddings only now. This might be wrong though.

West Tower in Aughton is considered to be one of the best wedding venues around. I've been to a few functions there and it is lovely. It's also very handy for Knowsley. There's also The Swan where Marco Pierre White is executive chef. That's also in Aughton, so again very handy for Knowsley. HTH.

Hope Street Hotel is nice for a wedding, also you can have ceremony and reception at the Town Hall which I think is lovely.

We went to a wedding at the Racquet club in the summer - it was lovely.

We also had our wedding at the Malmaison (although in Glasgow), they might be worth a shout as they do lovely private dining.

If I was you I would try and push it more as private family meal, unless you want the whole wedding thing... as you are likely to get a better meal, at half the price Grin

Thanks for the ideas! Will have a look and make appointments for a nosy and a chat with their coodinators.

Try and ignore the less than perfect spelling on the website, Circo has a "velvet box suite" for up to 30, which sounds pretty ideal? I'd recommend going for a drink and seeing what you think - I love the circus theme, but it might be a bit much for you?

KatyMacGrin. I've been feeling a bit short of nice evenings out recently, so I fear it's all going to come tumbling out on here...

Which reminds me -

London Carriageworks or 60 Hope Street are both wonderful. 60 Hope Street definitely has a function room, but I suspect it's too small for 30. Carriageworks is part of the Hope Street Hotel so I would assume there is a function room, but I've never eaten in it. The food is amazingly good though.

Ziba (at the Racquet Club) is somewhere my parents go with friends, but I've only been once, and that was years ago.

I'd recommend you avoid Panoramic - it's pretty stunning, but some of the clientele frankly have an...unsavoury air about them

PastGrace sounds much more uptodate than me - listen to her

I used to be a huge fan of Circo (and I think they had a function room) but I haven't been for a year or two, so couldn't tell you what it's like now.

Raymond Blanc is opening a brasserie down near the water, but not sure if it's there yet or not.

Heathcotes?

I've only ever been to the bar, but several friends have had good meals at the restaurant in the Beatles Hard Day's Night Hotel - Blakes I think it's called?

OK bear in mind I am out of date

Woolton Golf Club used to do a good meal but it might be private

Green Park Hotel was a lovely Victorian Hotel

Childwall Abbey 'was' an amazing building

You used to be able to hire/rent a room in Albert Dock for events

There was somewhere else on the waterfront I can't remember

Did Bluecoat do events?

Gosh these may not even be standing now Sad

Central, preferably. But we are getting married at Knowsley Registry Office so round there would be fine as well.

Gosh 20 years ago I could have told you loads, but now I wouldn't have a clue

Erm, central or outskirts?
